🏈 Alabama ranks No. 3 in Coaches preseason poll

I don't get the ND love at all. Not really sure why Stanford is ranked either.

I don't like the Baylor pick. I see them dropping off. No way they continue their last two seasons of success. Oregon and Michigan State I'll just have to watch and see about. Everything else looks about as close as one could guess at this point. More parity this year than I have ever gone into a season seeing. It is an honest toss up this year.

Man, that's some good information. Ohio State has to be penalized for that garbage schedule they've gotten away with for years. And I cannot help but roll over laughing when people keep talking about TCU's road game to Minnesota last season as a "quality" out of conference game. It almost makes me spew Coke out my nose I find it so comical. Let's all hope that gets criticized a little more with these highly sought after playoff spots on the line.

Alabama ranks No. 3 in the freshly released USA Today Coaches preseason poll.

Defending national champion Ohio State was the overwhelming choice for No. 1 with 62 of the 64 first-place votes. Alabama picked up one first-place vote as did No. 2 TCU.

Alabama coach Nick Saban is one of the 64 head coaches whom comprise the poll.

Bama & Arky #1 & 2 for toughest schedule.

I know these polls are to create conversation and stuff, but I don't think any poll that actually matters should come out until mid season. Let everyone play 6-7 games first, then rank them for the first time.

If you "eliminated" the polls for the first 6-7 weeks, somebody would come up with a poll to replace the polls. Mock BCS rankings were created prior to the first release and we saw this last year when the playoff rankings were guesstimated before they were released. Every time one of those early rankings came out, the fan bases erupted with joy because their team was ranked in the rankings that didn't count.
