šŸˆ Alabama players test positive for COVID-19

How crazy is it to suggest they just bring everyone together to get it , quarantine and not haft to worry about it hopefully for another season . I mean I can remember when parents would take there kids and expose them to chicken pox , measles to have it run it’s course cause the young and healthy are best equipped to defeat the virus . Thereā€˜s been 20 deaths nation wide for people 44 and younger , with no underlying conditions.

Its insane....of course its going to happen...
Its not that they aren’t going to do the social thing... @rick4bama ....
Its the nature of the sport....
With so many players...coaches...trainers..drs....managers.....
We talking 150+/- together.....
cant keep it off the navy ships....when so many are piled in together...
How can football teams do it

And to think they can go forward in ....90 days or so.... REALLY!

Maybe its time to redirect the season to January or something...have a winter /spring season.... when a vaccine is really possible.... then...only then...

Wewill know more when nfl teams form up....

Hoping something will work outfor September/October....

Let it run its course...
There is a reason the board of directors at these hospitals are telling medical professionals to attribute as many deaths as possible to covid, the money is astronomical!
There will be hell to pay over all the misinformation in the coming years over this

Yeah, that's patently false. We are not getting more money thanks to COVID. Hospitals are losing tons of money. CMS issued a 20% add on payment for COVID inpatients meanwhile for months all elective surgeries were canceled. Attributing deaths to COVID does nothing and initial coding of DRGs of patients is complicated to begin with and gets reviewed (and COVID like patients have a ton of different coding classifications based on how they present).

@BAMAneck, I understand what you are saying AND I AM NOT trying to start an argument with you, Lord knows this country is split enough as it is without either one of us throwing fuel on the fire. My response to everyone, would you want your child to be number 45, 46 or any number? Do you want to take that risk with your son or daughter? I realize that young men and woman are very strong and almost all DO NOT DIE but personally, I would like to keep everyone alive and I know you do too. Again, not trying to argue at all, just throwing out a different perspective.

Some of us older posters well remember the days of a classmate getting measles, chicken pox or mumps and then just about everyone in the class following suit. Heck, I had all 3 back in the day, it was rare if you didn't. I was an elementary principal for 12 years and I know we had to take all kinds of percautions when one of our students came down with any one of those illnesses.

To be 100% transparent with you, I am being as safe as I can because my wife is very high risk due to previous medical conditions. A few posters on here will remember that time where I honestly did not know if she was going to live or die for about a week. She stayed in intensive care for 2 weeks and I brought her home on Christmas Eve night to 2 small kids. Best Christmas present ever!

Controversial Opinion: This country is one economic disaster (not necessarily what we are having right now) from becoming the next Yugoslavia.

Yep. I would say very negatively controversial
Times are hard for a lot. Nobody's fault. Just a biological disaster and
this other stuff andvthe world jumping on USA shows u what world we live in. They aren't Americas friends. Showing their colors
F em
We come through these times because of how strong the essence of the country is
Most times.... hard times... make you stronger
The left are having a good time and
Ghe police are getting pounded as you know and unjustly. Very unjustified
Heads up. Good luck. Be careful and stay safe

Yes and no. A 20% add-on means hospitals are getting paid more for COVID patients. The additonal funding to come will be distributed based on which hospitals are treating a higher portion of COVID patients (ex: if the hospital treats 1% of the nation's COVID patients, they get 1% of the funding). Therefore it helps each hospital to classify more cases as COVID cases. My 93-year old mom passed away in late April. She was diagnosed with COVID but was asymptomatic. She had an infection and actually passed from that. However, she was classified as a COVID death. Since the CDC tests were contaminated (CDC Coronavirus Test Kit Failure Due to Contamination | Global Biodefense), it makes us wonder if she actually had COVID.

Unfortunately we will never be able to protect everyone . I myself am 50 and deaths did occur back in the day from pox parties . But to shut down everything till there is a vaccination is asinine. The flu has been around forever and its a guessing game with that vaccination and 10’s of thousands die from it a year . If there is some type of herd immunity isn’t it best to get it over and done with not keep starting and stopping Lives as well as the nation ?

For the record my mom is 74 with C.O.P.D. And my dad is 84 with heart problems me and my wife care for them and am terrified of this virus . For them .... im not saying expose them just suggesting that the young people that are going to be in close quarters for an extended period of time that it might be beneficial to have one less worry . The survival rate for that demographic was like 98% .

I'm in Finance at the major hospital system in our metro area. I know how the payments work and what the finances look like. To state that there is huge money in mis-classifying COVID patients is patently false, and parroted by a certain segment.

I'm also not sure if people understand that COVID attacks your immune system, making it in some cases (for elderly especially) impossible to fight off other ailments. You don't die of Covid just like you don't die from AIDS, but that doesn't mean getting Covid didn't cause your death. Gunshot wounds also don't kill people, blood loss does. These are specious arguments instigated by those who want to make public health a political issue

My daughter works at one of the biggest hospitals in central Florida.
She is 8 1/2 months pregnant, not supposed to be working with CoVID patients. Well one slipped through the cracks and literally hacked and coughed in her face while she was only wearing a dust mask.
When it was caught they notified her, she went straight to the docs in charge of CoVID for the hospital. They told her and I quote ā€œdon’t worry about it you don’t need to be testedā€.
She didn’t really understand what they meant until a fellow nurse told her the patient does t ā€œreallyā€ have anything to worry about
