Brian Vogler struggled for the proper way to describe it.

Ultimately, the Alabama tight end just couldn’t put what he’d been experiencing with the Crimson Tide offense throughout the preseason into words.

"We’ve got explosive guys out there," Vogler said. "So many different looks ... so the things that we can do in the passing game are — it’s hard to explain. I guess you guys will see during Michigan what we can do."

What coach Nick Saban wants to see are more "explosive plays," which he classifies as a pass of more than 16 yards or a run of more than 12. He used a national platform Thursday, ESPN’s "Mike and Mike in the Morning" radio show, to express that desire.

Alabama had 65 offensive plays go for more than 20 yards during the 2011 regular season. Fifty-six of the 92 plays that went for more than 20 yards, including defensive and special teams, came from players who are no longer with the Crimson Tide.

So where will they come from in 2012?
