Just an aside, does anyone know what's up with Alex Reese.
I thought he was questionable to return at all...ever... Because of some sort of autoimmune disorder?
That was Nick King. The medical staff at Bama never cleared him and he transferred to Middle Tennessee State where he's killing it!!!

BTW, MTSU beat Ole Miss by 19 last night, beat Vandy by three on the road Wednesday night, and are scheduled to face Auburn Saturday night.

CAJ is looking to get his rotation down to eight. With Key coming back soon he just may be out of that eight unless they need a bigger line-up. I'm assuming Reese isn't seeing as much PT due to that nulling of the roster/rotation. I've really not thought about it ... and haven't asked to see what was going on.

Thanks, @TerryP . I thought that might have been the case. I guess since he's played in eight games, there's no way in hell he can get a redshirt, can he?
Another one and done rule that needs changing.

I am hoping the new proposal passes in football where players can play up to four games and still 'shirt. It was proposed in May (I believe) but haven't heard anything about it since.

Bama really needs one of those huge, massive dominant 7-foot type players. I know they have that Ohio State kid that is close to 7-foot but he hasn't seemed to be even close to be a dominant big man (at least not yet I guess).

I know! A big man with some game is what this group is lacking in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, this group can still and WILL make some noise come March. We had a few "experiments" in the CAG era and that likely turned some big men away in the recruiting game. Other schools using the lack of development against us.

Kudos to CAG for beefing up our non-con schedule this year and for having our boys to be competitive with that schedule

You meant CAJ didn't you? CAG is screwing up Dayton now!!

Dammit!

Dear sweet baby Jesus, please forgive me for committing the sacrelege of accidentally referring to our new awesome coach with our former mediocre coach's initials!

Was I the only one that was super excited when Anthony Grant was hired and far less excited when Avery was hired? Never claimed to have good judgment lol
Super excited with Grant? No. I sort of defaulted to a "trust Wimp Sanderson" mode. A year in and one of my complaints was the lack of a relationship with the fans/boosters.

I certainly questioned the firing of Grant the year before he was "released." I didn't want to see Bama coughing up millions in buyout money. After that next to the last season and seeing how the B-ball profited my tune was more mellow about sending him on his way.

Super excited on CAJ? No. But I did see the possibilities.

BTW, we've never put a lot of stock in your basketball opinions.

Just wondering, does anyone know what happened to Grant's offensive compass in Tuscaloosa? That was not the scheme he was coaching at VCU.

I must say... I have to eat some humble pie right now. When so many gave me shit about UTA not being a "quality win (or team)" I was so wrong. I mean look at these guys now! How can they not be in the Top 25 yet? I mean sure they've lost two games in a row, but look at the opponents. Absolute power houses man! Northern Iowa and Florida-Gulf Coast! I mean who in the nation could face an unbelievable schedule like that and come out unphased?

This falls into the same category of "it was against Mercer" when we were talking about Moses. We don't see "it was against Auburn" when he recorded on less tackle than against Mercer.

Based on current RPI and projections they'll (UTA) be favored in all but three games (with two of those spreads seeing UTA getting a little over two (GSU) and a little over one (ULL.) If you've watched the way the selection committee values RPI you'd be singing a different tune.

Mercer is a shitty team, and dont even pretend like Moses had the same amount of impact against Auburn as he did against Mercer. Notice you didn't point out tackles-for-loss like you did against Mercer... Making that argument would be no different than if a QB threw for 600 yards and 5 touchdowns against North Alabama and someone said "yeah but it was North Alabama." I dont know why you have such an issue acknowledging that level of competition makes a difference.

And UTA got beat by two shitty low level teams, back-to-back, RPI means so much early season doesn't it? I was half joking but honestly I didnt think you would come in and actually argue that UTA was STILL a "quality win." Lord have mercy. UTA is an average Sun Belt team, period.

I pointed out a few things about Moses: number of tackles, number that were solo, the INT, and tackles for a loss. I also mentioned he led the team in tackles against Mercer.

He led the team in tackles against Auburn. But, it was Auburn.

On a side note on the SECN when they're previewing the game and especially who is going to have an eye on Bryant. Moses. But ...

It was a game where most of his tackles came 4+ yards past the line... where as Mercer they were almost all at the line or behind it. Keep pretending that the level of competition doesn't matter. It's actually pretty silly.

Whoever said that on the SEC Network evidently didn't watch the last two Clemson games, I think it's pretty clear 32 will be eyeing him. I love Moses and think he will be a great player, though.
