I think alabama will loose to techby 14 points, because we can not defend the the spread very well with a good quarter back like taylor. we've tried to do that last year and fellto do so; i could be wrong and i hope i am. i think we beat tenn, aub,lsu and olemiss, still a great year. roll tide!!!!:a::headscratch:

"good quarter back like Taylor"???
2008 - 2TD / 7INT!

34-13 Bama!

I think alabama will loose

I think we will be loose too and firing on all cylinders. Tyrod is a running QB, not a passing one. It would be to our advantage for him to run a spread cause he can't throw very well. Btw - we have a pretty strong defense against the run. No prediction here on the score but I like our chances and will take Bama and the 14 points. So, what are we wagering.

you should know in the first 2 possessions who is going to win this game. If Alabama can pass block and slow down their spread ground game, we win easily.

If we have difficulty with those two things it becomes a nail-biter.

People always go by one game and say a certain thing. 'We didn't do good against the spread', y because the team played like crap against Utah? That wasn't the only team we played that used the spread buddy. Florida used the spread and we played very well against them, Tebow made some incredible throws when DB's were exactly where they needed to be. not the only times we saw the spread. Besides Taylor is not a good passing QB at all, he is an awesome running QB tho. I think Bama will get em.

I agree with Argo. Guess it's that time of year already.
I welcome that time of year.

Spread offense increases the chances our LB corp(which is highly rated) will have big games IMO. We got more speed on pass rush this year as well I believe. Look out for Donta Hightower.

I also believe the 3-4 is great against the speadand spread QB's. VT will need a good ground game to get away with a V against what will probably be one of colleges best rush Ds.

Our offensive line remains a puzzle, but if VT cant exploit that, I like our chances.

Id actually give us the advantage, but I wouldnt claim victory though.

What, did Michael Vick discover an extra year of eligibility?

Unless they have VASTLY improved, I don't see Virginia Tech beating Bama -- especially since CNS has had eight months to prepare for this match-up.

Bama 27 VT 17

Roll Tide!

Va Tech has a good defense.
Qb play is not a strength for Va Tech.

Their offensive line play the last two years has been horrible. To put that in perspective, it was about like Arkansas' last year—over 40 sacks allowed on the year.

Interestingly enough, the best defensive team last year in the ACC was Boston College. And, if you want to delve a little deeper that's the same BC that lost to Clemson last year.

Last year, in a lot of areas, they mirrored what we did on defense, third downs, etc.

The OP thinks we lose by 14? I wonder if Va. Tech will be able to put 14 on the score board. I'd say 17 at the most.

We're not losing to those jacklegs.

They lost to freakin ECU last year and they lost 15 seniors off that team.

Their talk of "national championship" contender is a bit premature.

I mean, sure there is a team every year that surprises, we were that team last year. However, everyone is picking the hokies.

We're going to take them out behind the shed.

Bama 41 - Tech 6

No way we lose this one. We are stronger at virtually every position. Including coaching. I don't think it will be a very high scoring game though, as VT is known for their defense. I'm thinking..

Good guys - 17
Beamer ballers - 3
