🏈 Alabama loses a LB (Wisconsin bound)

38 on D, 43 on O, plus the three specialist. IF everyone listed IS on scholly, puts the number at 84 (still counting Mo Smith since he's still in school.)

He came in Jan 16, and now the Scholarship count is 83 or 84 if you count Mo (as pointed out, he has not left yet).. I would hope he hangs and forgets this idea of moving to another school to be a starting DB. With the current level and the graduating class for 2016 (15 or 16 with Mo) with several juniors being draft bait, I still see about 6-8 current players to find another school between now and next season.

Man I dunno. Looking over the roster, the only guys I see that haven't shown much are Frazier, Dwight, and OJ Smith - I guess they could go - maybe JC Hass., or Casher? Most of the rest seem to be walk-ons or seniors. All of the above guys would seem to rate another year - this year I guess, to impress the coaches or get left behind on the depth chart. Most sites have JC Hass and Casher second team, so they are valuable back ups for us. OJ Smith and Frazier are often listed as second team DLs, and we love having depth there - we'll see how much they rotate and contribute. Who else? Maybe Cornwell? We certainly seem to be favoring QBs that can run, and are fast, so that leaves him out....

Falkins, Brandon Kennedy & Chance Warmack could be in that conversation.

I just can't see Cornwell and Bateman both staying. But I said the same thing last year when 5 QB's were on scholarship. Morris didn't leave until afterwards.

I think 1 OL of this group (Casher/Kennedy/Warmack) will not finish in Crimson. For whatever reason, the staff tried to recruit that smaller group of interrior OL's and it has yet to pan out. Lots of good OL's ahead of them, so they could be good players, just none breaking through.

I thought Falkins or Keif would have left by now. Didn't think either had the speed. But it seems like Keif could be in the mix.

Frazier is just too big and athletic to not play this year. OJ Smith on the other hand, could be on the outside looking in.

Somehow Dakota Ball has got on the field at TE, but if he or Brandon Greene ever wants to have a key role, it will be somewhere else. I love the idea of Greene getting a shot at OT, but seems unlikely this late in his career.

Kirven has gotten mentioned as a legit OT prospect despite never really playing. Or maybe he started a game last year? In previous years I always had him on a possible departure list... But with the thin group at OT, he's got a shot.

Lastly, Ronnie Clark has had a tumultuous time at UA. Poor guy has been injured his whole career. Would hate to see him leave on that note, but could happen?

Just some thoughts... RTR

Yeah, TS, BUT....

Falkins, Greene, Ball, and Kirven are ALL seniors - so of COURSE they are leaving after this year - no mystery there.

Kief seems to have moved up - we'll see. Hard to break in to this rotation, but he IS only a sophomore.

And are you already hating on Kennedy? LOL he's a redshirt frosh...

I hear you on Clark... sadly, hard to come back from two Achilles injuries.

I have hopes for Frazier, definitely, but he hasn't really shown much yet...

So, in the end, we could maybe both agree on Cornwell, Casher and/or Warmack, and OJ Smith... would be interested to know who else rolltide66 had in mind - it's all conjecture, of course! RTR!

I was talking about those guys leaving BEFORE this year... Just has Bell has. If they're seniors, then they've in that graduation range, and wouldn't have to sit out.

BTW - Bell was a RS freshman as well (granted only 1 semester). I wouldn't call saying that Kennedy hasn't played as "hating"... Just pointing out undersized lineman aren't getting on the field. He happens to be one.

You make some good and fair points. Good chance we get a few right IMO. RTR

Bell is a freshman, not a RS freshman. Since he wasn't in school last fall due to the greyshirt, he couldn't redshirt. Maybe he was slated to RS this fall which made transferring more appealing.

He was.

I think, if I'm not mistaken, he was one of only a couple 3 stars we actually signed in his class. The rest were 4* and above.

He was injured his senior year, right? There was some folks trying to make some stink about the 0 hour gray shirt but if I remember correctly the kid didn't have a big issue. Last I heard he had put on some good size and some thought he might wide up being a diamond in the rough. Problem with this roster is it's filled with new diamonds every year and you can't blame a kid if he sees the writing on the wall. Wish him well.
