| GOLF Alabama Golf's, Nick Dunlap, wins the US Amateur Championship.

If he wins today he'll join Jerry Pate as the only two guys to win this from UA.
If he wins today he'll be one of two guys, in history, to win this tournament and the US Junior. Tiger was the other.

If I were him, would I go? Win or lose, I'm hitting the tour.
I'd definitely go as well, but man I'd love to have him back at UA and see the men win another title. That group from '12-'14 made me fall in love with college golf.

This win gets him an invite to at least the Masters. Any other major?
U.S. Amateur champion receives exemptions to play in the Masters, U.S. Open and the British Open — as long as they retain their amateur status (or qualify by other means like Bryson DeChambeau did for the 2016 U.S. Open). They are also automatically qualified for the next 10 U.S. Amateurs, providing they keep their amateur status. The runner-up also receives exemptions into the Masters and the U.S. Open, which has to be one of the best consolation prizes of all time.

Long gone are the days of those like Bobby Jones... :)

I thought he was getting at least an invite to the U.S. Open. Thanks!
