I mainly just want to be Number 1 after the NC Game. During the season is good, no doubt, but if you're not there at the end of the season...it just makes for a bigger disappointment after being ranked in the top spot before the NCG.

I don't see it as being afraid, I think some fans want UA to have that little bit of extra motivation that comes from being #2 and having #1 come into BDS

Also think some folks wanna see how O and the tiggahs handle being #1

I don't think Bama fans are scared of #1. It's just been a bad place to be when the Playoff Final comes. No team ranked 1 has won the Final. Matter of fact, the lower ranked team has won the Final every single year so far. It's like a bad luck charm so far.
