šŸˆ GAME THREAD Alabama crushes Florida 68-50 on ESPN, outscored 41-17 2nd half

Thats what super young teams do, they don't always find that same intensity and sense of urgency each night out. They dont have a true leader. Thats not the Freshmens fault but Ingram, and Key should provide that but never seem to, so its play by committee. They are deep and talented, and could be a tough out in the tournament if they just keep plugging along and continue to get better. This win made up for the MIZZOU loss, plus MIZZOU turned right around and beat KY today. So it righted the ship for BAMA! RTR!

Can’t wrap my head around this team... it’s a love/hate relationship for sure.

you and me, both, Tre. it's like they're the jeckyll and hyde of the college basketball world, right now. you don't know which team your'e gonna get.

the miss. st. game we went to a couple weeks ago was basically the whole jeckyll and hyde thing all in one game. we started out good, lifted off the gas a bit, then got good again down the stretch when it really mattered.

it's sort of like early in Saban's career at Bama when the team would play down to their opponent's level. you know....before they bought in to the whole "Process" thing? but in basketball, you just can't do that and expect to win. you have to play at a consistent level above your opponent. not always easy to do, but this team has some talent and can shock some teams.

IF we made the playoffs this season, i don't see us advancing too far. i'd love to be wrong, but i just don't see it happening with the way they are as far as how consistently they play on any given day.

On the positive side, we weren't getting the Oklahoma and especially the Florida type games earlier in the season. So we are improving, in that, we are starting to show we can dominate at intervals. Sometimes, it's just a quarter or a half of basketball at a time, but it's a thing of beauty when we turn it on.

I don't know how much residual effect actually comes from a Florida win in the swamp but everything is about confidence. And confidence is body language, and ours looked good in the second half yesterday. Just from my perspective, this team seems to match up well with teams who play on the perimeter. The barn, Oklahoma, and Florida want to shoot the 3-ball and our length and athleticism, attention to defensive details seem to be the antidote for that gameplan. So who is going to want to play Bama come SEC tourney time?

This is a very young team and Coach has done a very good job developing team chemistry and focus. My father was a player and a coach so I understand the frustration when dealing with young talent. If you go to the games and watch Coach constantly communicating and cajoling you get a peak at this labor of love and anxiety. We are good and we will get better just not in linear fashion. Nothing goes straight up. Come to a game and get the fever. I love roller coasters.
