| FTBL Alabama beating the #1 team back-to-back?

If my count in correct, Saban is already #1 all time with victories over top ranked opponents (9 victories total). The next closest coach I think has only 4, and he's not active. Just insane.

Has only been done twice and not in the same season. Both by Miami. And only one with the same HC.

#5 Miami with Howard Schnellenberger beat #1 Nebraska in the Orange Bowl after the '83 season. And #10 Miami with Jimmy Johnson beat #1 Auburn in the 1984 Kickoff Classic.

At the end of the '87 season #2 Miami with Jimmy Johnson beat #1 Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl, and #6 Miami with Jimmy Johnson beat #1 Florida State in the first week of the '88 season. Ironically Miami would move to #1 the following week and lose to #14 Michigan.
