Alabama athletics director Bill Battle isn't saying how much new women's basketball coach Kristy Curry will be paid, but he is saying that plans for a renovated or new baseball stadium are being discussed. The timetable for an improved baseball facility is two to five years, Battle said Thursday before a Crimson Caravan appearance at Turner Field.
Curry was introduced as Alabama's new coach Thursday. She comes from Texas Tech, where she reportedly was going to be paid $750,000 for the upcoming season. Curry replaces Wendell Hudson, whose total compensation for his fifth and final season was $295,000.
Battle was asked if Curry is taking a pay cut.
"That contract is still being negotiated, and that will be released at a later date," he said.
Alabama is paying gymnastics coach Sarah Patterson $330,000 per year. Softball coach Patrick Murphy is making $240,000 and women's golf coach Mic Potter is making $145,000. Each of the three won a national championship in 2012.
