🏈 Alabama a year away?

Earlier this week, ESPN's Travis Haney listed the college football teams that he deems to be a year away from a run at a national championship , and Ohio State topped his list. But guess who else made that list? Alabama. Yep, the same Alabama team that has won two of the last three BCS national championships. Haney makes it clear in his piece that he thinks the Crimson Tide are a legitimate contender in 2012 even with all of their personnel losses from a year ago.

It'll be an exciting year regardless; exciting to see if Bama can return to a BCS bowl. The Bama elite on this site knows infinitely more than me, so correct me if I am wrong, but I think Floirda (in the BCS era) is the only National Champion who, the following season, made it into another BCS bowl game (the Sugar Bowl).

Just my two cents worth: We will have major losses on the DL (Square, Williams, Dial) and likely on the OL (Jones, Warmack, Fluker) going into 2013. While the cupboard won't be bare, I like our chances this year better than next.
