Just like Sark and others, it's getting an experienced coach to do grunt work. For the coach, it keeps him in the game until the next round of open positions.
Borges did a good job in the off-season between '03 and '04 with Jason Campbell. I remember a lot of folks laughing about Campbell at the QB position that summer and Tubs hiring Borges may have been the best offensive coordinator hire he made while down there. He did a good job at Michigan during his first season there.
The thing about Borges is it seems he does well his first few years at his stops but by the third his offense has declined.
While Dan Werner gives Daboll a experience look at SEC defenses, Borges supplies that to Lindsey (although not to the same degree of experience.)

I know what you mean and I knew the reasoning for it. Just poking a little fun at the Barners. Kind of like with our hiring of Werner. People wanted to say, " they hired him because he beat BAMA in back to back years!"
