Old news I guess, but this is a big hit against their defense. 2 starters are going to be out for this game. Considering we won't have Hightower, it at least makes the playing field a little more even.

Do these loses affect our offensive gameplan? Not sure, but I do think it may may it easier on us. Dunlap was one of the their best pass rushers that allowed them to get pressure on the QB. The Florida Rivals site said they are going to shuffle the d-line to get more DL-tackles on the field, thus taking away some of their corner speed.

With their drama this week and the shuffling around, it can't help their focus.

I would have thought that UF's Defensive plan was to use its stellar Secondary and its aboility to keep a speedy Pass Rush on the field to keep our passing game in check. (The Pass Rush does not give GMAC enough time to allow the Receivers to get deep, while the DBs all do their best Shut0Down Corner impression.) Success here would allow UF their best, safe effort at loading the box to stop the run.

Dunlop was perhaps their best in their plan to furry GMAC. Jones was an LB, who would have been one of their best by virtue of being a starter, who would have played a big role in stopping the run.

This is not to say that UF does not have quality back-filling these slots, just as we did for Hightower, but odds are the "scrubs" will be some measure less capable starter while their replacements will lower the talent pool that much more rotating in.

So Bama gains a "Our first teamer against Their third teamer" advantage when the new starters get tired. THIS is key...getting them tired, and then keying in on their replacements when a switch is needed.

As far as gameplanning goes, make Dunlop's replacement run, run, run with plays away from him countered by screens over his head. Then punch him in the mouth with a pulling Guard. Simply MAKE HIS (need a word here) QUIT!

Jone's replacement is much the same, but much more physical. He needs to have a lineman on him everyplay. Instead of making him heart and lungs tired, make his muscles tired, weak, and sore.

This is not a comfortable course of action for them, or us. It will take the whole game to pay off, but theses are their two weakest points.

Yes, we want to win, at all costs. I don't think there is any dispute in that.

As a big sports fan, not just football, but other sports as well, when a team begins to lose to the same opponent over and over, it starts to become a psycholgical thing. Last night's loss by Michigan State to North Carolina in college hoops sort of proves that point. They don't play a lot, but Sparty has now lost 9 of 10 to UNC. Our last victory over UF was at home back in 2005. And as glorious as that win was, it's not doing much for us these days, if we can't beat them to get into the NC game. Before that win over UF in 05, we hadn't beaten them, or played them, since the 1999 SECCG. Of course, we lost in 06 and last year in the SECCG.

We need to turn this thing around and beat their pants off.
