The schedule is in this link: http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2015/03/alabama_vs_michigan_state_rest.html
Sixteen of the best D3 hockey teams in the country, and Bama's one of them! And all this is at Pelham!
Bama jumped on Michigan State 1 - 0 with only 1:02 gone from the clock. It became a battle after that. Clean play for the most part, just two somewhat equal teams battling it out. Well, I really can't mean that...Bama completely outhit, outskated, outpassed, outshot...out everything! Michigan State, but most every shot went to their goalie. He was good; he wasn't great. Bama gave up two trash goals (still shaking my head about MSU's 3rd goal). Bama, like they always do in the 3rd periods of close games, came back and forced OT.
OT in the playoffs is different than the season, probably because of the pool play, I dunno...But instead of a four-on-four five minute session, the boys played five-on-five for ten minutes with no shootout (because of pool play; I did get that clarified). They ended up tying 4 - 4.
It was an edge-of-your-seat thriller last night!!
Tonight, Bama plays Pitt-Johnson at 7:00, and Thursday v. Colorado St. at 7:00. No shootout and a tie could actually help Bama advance from pool play.
If you can, come down to the Pelham Civic Center tonight and tomorrow night and yell for Bama! We need some more noise there. There was a loud group of Spartan fans there last night.
