What we know: Starting strong safety Vinnie Sunseri is lost for the season with an anterior cruciate injury to his right knee. Sunseri led the team with six passes defended and was second in pass break-ups up with four. He also had two interceptions returned for touchdowns.

What this means: The biggest thing it means is that Landon Collins is now a starter. For the better part of two seasons, fans continued to ask when Collins would break the starting lineup. Well, his time has come. Collins is a physical players just like Sunseri. What is yet to be determined is what kind of instincts he has. Sunseri may have had the best instincts on the team. That's a benefit of being a coach's son. Another area in which Sunseri thrived was in leadership. That's not something a new starter can just pick up. However, Collins has played a lot this season so it's not as if he is completely new to this position.

This is the second season-ending injury to the safety position. Nick Perry sustained a shoulder injury earlier in the season. This provides an opportunity for some not as experienced players to step up. Jai Miller is one of those guys. The 6-foot-3, 213-pounder will see his late-game reps increased if the opportunity presents itself. It's also worth noting that Geno Smith has worked some at safety as has Maurice Smith. And don't forget about Jarrick Williams, who has played excellent at the Star position. Williams could shift back to safety if needed and Smith could slide to Star.
