Remember, nobody liked Kiffin either when he was consulting and later promoted, but that turned out extremely well.
Nationally, a lot of eyes were on Kelly when he was visiting a few years ago. They were talking football, ya know?
There's a lot of takes on him being in town: a lot of them speculation. Let's say this...he's in town consulting Locks. That'll create a wave, or two.
No one died on Kiffin's watch, though.
Durkin's in the Saban rehab program. He wasn't directly responsible for the tragedy, but it happened under his watch - that makes him accountable. I hope he uses the opportunity to make himself better.
This line is one I thought was
WAY overboard.
That Durkin should never coach—or “consult on”—a football team again seems so obvious as to be farcical. That he would get another chance despite overwhelming evidence that he ran a dysfunctional, dangerous program at Maryland seems just about as obvious. Congrats in advance on that national championship ring, Coach.

And I can't help but think about the videographer who died a few years ago on Notre Dame's campus. An accident, but negligence wasn't charged. It was a horrible death at Maryland, but how many of these accusations are powered by emotion?
