🏈 A new consultant on campus: DJ Durkin is on campus working with the football program.

A defensive coach by trade.

Goulding on the way out for a DC role?

If Durkin DOES end up on the field, he'll have a short leash as he'll just be a positional coach.

Remember, nobody liked Kiffin either when he was consulting and later promoted, but that turned out extremely well. Maybe this is another "Saban Rehab for Embattled Former Coaches" effort.

No one died on Kiffin's watch, though.

Sure, that LOOKS bad.

But we don't know the details. All we know is a kid died of heat stroke. Lots of things can lead to that. It's extremely unfortunate and my heart bleeds for his family. But, it could've been a night of heavy drinking or even an undisclosed stomach flu that may have had him dehydrated before he ever showed up to the field that day.

Is there a criminal case? Negligent homicide? Not to my knowledge. I'm not playing devil's advocate as much as I'm saying let's not presume guilty-until-proven-innocent when we don't know details.

All I know is to trust The King.

Paul believes the underlying motivation for the visit, is that he has no faith in Tosh Lupoi. Proof positive once again it’s never a good idea to ask anyone to fill 4 hours of live TV, 5 times a week. Oh, the injustice, the humanity, the indignation, the travesty of it all.

Durkin's in the Saban rehab program. He wasn't directly responsible for the tragedy, but it happened under his watch - that makes him accountable. I hope he uses the opportunity to make himself better.

I guess Nick had no faith in Kirby when he asked Greg Williams of the Saints to advise with Bama vs LSU NC game as well as Clancy Pendergast in 2014 for help with OSU.

Finebaum is so full of shet I can smell him over Al Gore's interwebz. Paul just suking up to the SJW's group at ESPN.

Nationally, a lot of eyes were on Kelly when he was visiting a few years ago. They were talking football, ya know?

There's a lot of takes on him being in town: a lot of them speculation. Let's say this...he's in town consulting Locks. That'll create a wave, or two.

No one died on Kiffin's watch, though.

This line is one I thought was WAY overboard.

That Durkin should never coach—or “consult on”—a football team again seems so obvious as to be farcical. That he would get another chance despite overwhelming evidence that he ran a dysfunctional, dangerous program at Maryland seems just about as obvious. Congrats in advance on that national championship ring, Coach.

And I can't help but think about the videographer who died a few years ago on Notre Dame's campus. An accident, but negligence wasn't charged. It was a horrible death at Maryland, but how many of these accusations are powered by emotion?

Not only that at ND, many, many rape charges, caused by football players, swept under the rug!
