If you've watched any analytic type programs on the sports channels I know you've heard someone say they believe Ole Miss has the best defense in the country.

If you've paid any attention to the polls you know who is currently ranked #1 in the nation.

With that in mind...chew on the question posed with these numbers in mind:

I was thinking this same thing after watching the game. Are we this good or has aTm really sunk to bad levels? I think next week's game in Knoxville will go a long ways in answering that. It is away from home and against a much better defense. But either way, I'm just happy the boys got out there and "let their hair down" so to speak. It was fun to watch them fly all over the field.

The last three game TA&M had total yards were 526, 455, 172. But, if you think about it, most of the throwing yards came against Bama was against 2nd and 3rd string.

aTm's offense has actually been good this year. All the sports stations were talking about their QB how good he was and all that.

The boys yesterday put on a clinic against aTm.

Next week against that crap hole will show a lot too if they can do it again

On a serious note, Matt, how many times did you notice A&M in four and five wide sets and Hill Thrill Nill not being able to find an open receiver? Even in times when Smart was only rushing three or four, and not getting a lot of pressure on Hill Thrill Nill he wasn't able to find an open receiver.

I'm certainly not discounting, or ignoring, issues we've seen with the secondary and on the same note we can't ignore the fact they did very well Saturday.

And, changing the subject a bit...

I believe it's important to note that Freeze made the decision to move away from the HUNH offense against the Tide because, and I quote, "it resulted in too many negative plays."

Are these not examples that confirm what several have said here the past few weeks concerning defensive improvement over the course of this season?

(Makes me think ahead to the spring and wonder how many guys leave early for the league and if it's only a couple the possibilities of how good this defense can be in 2015.)

I think we really found ourselves overall, HOWEVER, we are going to see if Blake can up his game on the road. Last two road games have not been overly impressive, but he was VERY impressive at home. We need him to find his rhythm in somebody else's house, too.

This is the main reason I dislike the HUNH. If you get hit with a negative play, you should slow down to collect your thoughts and make sure you get the right play called to get in a favorable position to be successful. There have been a couple of instances at Ole Miss and at Arkansas, we had a bad play on first down and then rushed up and the result was a negative on second down. 3rd and long allows teams to pin their ears back.

DANG!!! I just have to say "THAT's WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!"
FINALLY, Bama showed up in all phases of the game.
The OL, which I've voiced as a major concern for this team, looked GOOD! They hit blocks and stayed on them. If they missed one, they found someone to hit!
AWESOME Job TIDE!!!
I think this game showed the potential that Bama has when everyone is loose and playing to their potential.
If we sustain this level of play, good things are ahead without question.
ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

Remember when TAMU was predicted to win the SEC, and Kenny Hill was a top Heisman / Hype-man candidate?

Joey Galloway was really touting A&M after the SC game. He seems to have gone underground.

I work with an Aggie who was grinning HUGE after the South Carolina game. I'm not in the office the next few days to see what he's thinking today, I opted not to text him during the game. After the first loss, he was saying he regretted having that good of a game during the first game.

Have to give credit where it's due, the defense played well with great intensity. I saw a lot more defensive substitutions on the line to keep players fresh, possibly an attempt for the 4th quarter but eventually it was all for not.

Even with A&M having it's struggles with wide receivers this season, you have to feel this defense is improving. That rush and pressure though, that's what excites me
