Has UT turned a corner? Zero penalties committed by the Vols this past weekend.

Despite our conversations about our OL the team whose OL shocked me the most by their lack of consistent play? UGA. The speed rushers on the outside beat UGA's tackles consistently. Clemson's defensive linemen!

Even with the loss and a huge question mark on their offensive line UGA opens as a three point favorite over UofSC?

Brock Berlin, former Gator QB, is honorary captain this upcoming weekend when UF takes on Miami. He's captain for Miami.

Mizzou may have found their offense with over 350 yards rushing this past weekend.

Hats off to LSU on third down. Impressive by any and all measures.

A second hat comes off to Arkansas. Making a bowl game looks even more realistic now that I've actually seen a defense from the 'Backs.

Best defense in the SEC? My early lean is in the direction of Gainesville.
Any "idle thoughts" from you guys as we get into our first bye week?

I was shocked at UGA's o line. Not to take anything away from Clemson, but it's not like they have an elite pass rush or anything.

I'm curious to see if that's a trend with UT or just a fluke.

My biggest surprise from the weekend was just how bad Boise was for being ranked and how horrible Nebraska looked against Wyoming. Wyoming had over 600 yards offense against that defense. Nebraska is going to be in trouble when they get into Big 10 play

Got a feeling Clowney is gonna terrorize Georgia. Partly to shut the naysayers up and partly because UGA's o-line just didnt seem real great.

Arky has a d and running game... then again look who they played.

What happens if Kentucky losses to Western Kentucky & Miami (OH) in back to back weeks? Yikes.

Florida-Miami and UGA-SC are the only interesting thing to see in the SEC this weekend.

But none were again an SEC school or a top school. Beside UGA. I thought I saw where UGA was a 3 point underdog to S.C. this weekend. V. Tech is and will be a better school than what the others SEC team face last Saturday.

Auburn sucks. James Franklin is going to make Vanderbilt a force to be reckoned with in the near future. Florida is still missing some key players at a few positions, but they will shape up into a very physical and tough team in the future. Ole Miss still has a joke defense, as does Auburn. Auburn sucks. LSU's front 7 is still pretty good, but their corners are susceptible. Tennessee will look good until they play Florida, where then they will look like the same old Tennessee. Auburn sucks. UGA is going to be in for a long day against Clowney and South Carolina if that is how their offensive line plays. Didn't they return every starter? Auburn sucks.

I think UT will be last years Ole Miss, they play solid, physical, & fundamental football. I hope they are ranked solidly before we play.

The only reason Aaron Murray gets accolades is due to his cummulative yards as a starter. That's it b/c he is still making stupid decisions.

A&M suspends 6 players for violation of team rules, yet JFB violates some NCAA rules & he misses just 2 quarters. I am so ready for this game.

It is wierd watching UF play old school smash mouth ball. I've been following CFB, in particular 'Bama football since Spurrier trounced us w/ Emmet Smith. Since then UF has been something entirely different... until now.

Miss State's Russell is the reason they stunk up that game. There backup did waaaayyyy better & Mullen better get w/ it or he will be gone.

The Kentucky game just became almost a chore to watch. I guess I'll be watching for how 'Bama rotates players.

Cam Cameron is going to throw the kitchen sink at 'Bama & I wonder how our O-line will have progressed by then. One major positive to that game is the bye week before them which favors QB play :smiley-confused-pur.

That made my day lol

Didn't get to see UT or the lil piggies. How did their running game look?

Almost had 300 yards rushing, two backs with over 130 yards. It was against LA Lafayette tho.

My first thought reading this? The same team that came within a blocked punt followed by a return for a TD with two seconds left in the fourth quarter from beating Florida last year. ULL isn't as fly by night as some directional schools.

^^ Yeah but thats the same ULL that got 50 dropped on em by OK State, bout the only other major team they played last year too. I know they were in the top 50 run defenses last year so thats something. And lets not forget that Florida struggled against Bowling Green too last year.

It's another team that would make that a good division of football.

Take that N Dakota State team that won the other night and put them against a ULL? I'd watch that game. It would be good football.

I don't think I'd rank the gainesville defense ahead of ours. Our 2013 defense looked almost like our 2012 defense to me.

But I guess the "idle thought" that has been going over and over in my mind is: Now Coach Cristobal knows exactly what the OL needs to work on. I'm very interested to see if he can earn his pay now.

^^ We dont have a Dee Milliner in this group. I think Landon Collins will eventually vastly improve the quality of the safeties when he gets in there more but the corners arent as strong this year. Belue and Fulton are good, very solid corners who I would compare to a Marquis Johnson or DeQuan Menzie type players. Geno Smith can be a true superstar at corner in the future tho. Also we're not as solid in the middle yet, Ivory has to get alot more consistent.

When I look at Florida's defense and then consider they are adding Purifoy and Cummings into the mix?

Cristobal has earned his pay on the recruiting trail...but now that's you've made a Lance Thompson type of comparison...

Jameis Winston looked awful good for FSU.

He's in the "perfect storm" for college football right now.

Great numbers from a dual threat frosh, @ FSU which always can be an easy media darling, against a Pitt team propped up by a close loss to Notre Dame last year, on a Monday night with little to no competition across the networks, he's young and energetic with a winning smile who couldn't be more opposite than Manziel...

Think about it.

Perfect storm.

Oh no doubt, perfect storm. That said, the kid did pass the eyeball test last night.

Last night probably sealed one question; he's got great potential is won't be a bust for a 5* QB.

Slinging it around can get you by the Clemson's of this world. Can it get the 'Noles past a Florida defense when JW has to be making correct decisions?
