AJ McCarron has thrown 151 consecutive passes without throwing an interception (3rd longest such streak in school history).

His stats against SEC foes this year...

69 of 99 for 801 yards with 7 TD's and 0 INT's.

That's a pretty nifty 161.0 QB rating. Dude has been stellar, and personally speaking, far surpassed my expectations...

Another thing too. I keep hearing this this ..."they need to find a replacement for Julio" from the media heads covering the games. Do you think that having multiple talented WR/TE on the field is as much an advantage as one stellar WR? I mean with Julio he was a target , so now you have a bunch of guys doing their thing. So one guy really can't be double teamed. I don't know just my thought. AJ is working well with the WR/TE corps in my opinion.

Yes and no. It is better in that there is no go-to-guy so the D can't focus on anyone in particular. You want "that guy" because you know he will make a play when you need him and they make one hell of a decoy. If the D double-covers him someone is either open or has a mismatch. Both can be effective.

I'm finally done saying "the jury is out" on AJ. He has played much better than I thought he would and has quietly pieced a pretty good year together. He struggled early but kept his head, kid is a gamer.

He has done a fabulous job! There are a couple of plays a game that I can't believe he gets out of, and usually those end up being very positive plays at that. He really has FAR exceeded my expectations. I thought Sims would be a better all-around QB. Boy was I wrong.
