All kidding aside, Florida has got a solid staff, they will do good things but will always have to look from the second row as long as Coaches like Saban are in the SEC.
Coach Nick Saban
I am so proud to have him here, words cant describe how quick he turned us around and have now made us a team to be feared. Recruiting, always coaching up, and mentoring our fine athletes and being at the top of their game is a rarity, Coach glad your here, and look to be here for some time. When you do leave, you will leave us better off and Coaches will be swarming at the chance to coach here. For that I thank him. Coach Saban has a lot of coaches out their that use to be under him coaching in head positions, sound familiar? One Coach Paul Bryant had the same effect.
Coach Kirby Smart
He will be a head coach somewhere, and if Richt dont straighten the ship out there in Bulldog land, look for him to be target one, will hate to loose him but I understand if he does find a HC job. Nobody deserves it more than him.
Our Defense
Not ready to call them the best, but as I have pointed out before, our LBs and DBs are the best I have seen at Bama as a whole. They are a team, and they believe. I rank them above 09 arguably, but not ready to call it on the 92 team. (Lining 11 men in the box was something to marvel, so I aint ready to call them better than 92's yet........yet) Upshaw is a full grown man, with a chip on his shoulder. I love it. Hightower is a beast, Dre will be first round material, and Barron, you are the man. ( My favorite player on this team, does it quietly and consistently)
Our Offense
Trent Richardson- IMHO Better than Ingram, hands down one of the best backs at Bama I have seen.
McCarron is budding, and I believe he can lead us to a SEC title and more. Proud of him.
O-line, Barret Jones, what a intelligent, versatile and physical player. He is special.
I got to give Smelley some props, he has caught some nice passes and is a factor glad he is wearing the Crimson.
Special Teams
Solid bunch, and I dont have to worry everytime a fast Kick returner get it, that he might go the distance. Well rounded group.
Our fan base
Well traveled, Loyal, knowledgeable and rabid, but can be the most critical bunch when things arent going our way. Lot of improvements in that area. I believe in being classy, and acting like we have been there, but most chalk that up to being cocky. So be it. There is nothing more I hate than obnoxious fan-bases. A few come to mind, and I am sure we rank in there also.
All in all it was a great day for Alabama football yesterday, and after looking at this game, my humble opinion is this.... Our true test to gauge how good we are is to keep complacency in check. We are that good, and we can and will beat LSU if we play like we did last night. To all fans that dont like how we start off, remember this, we always start off a little slow, then adjust and lock down. It has been that way since Coach got here, and as long as we are competing and winning, I say, Coach away!
