Alabama landed a big 2015 commitment on Monday morning, as five-star Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure quarterback Ricky Town committed to the Crimson Tide, according to reports on Rivals.com and 247Sports.

Town (6-4, 198), is considered the top 2015 pro-style quarterback prospect in the nation and the No. 3 prospect overall by 247Sports and a four-star prospect and No. 2 pro-style QB by ESPN. Park, who also had offers from USC, UCLA, Arizona State, Stanford, Florida State, Georgia, Miami and Texas, camped at Alabama in June and reportedly impressed Crimson Tide coaches.

"I think that it is a special program," Town told Rivals of Alabama after his first visit to Tuscaloosa. "It would be an honor to be in a program like Alabama. They are all about creating the overall person, not just the football player. That is what really impressed me. "

Town becomes Alabama's fifth commitment in the 2015 class. The others are Vigor running back DeSherrius Flowers, West Orange (Texas) Stark defensive back Deionte Thompson, Columbus (Ga.) Carver defensive end Mekhi Brown and Atlanta-Mays offensive lineman Dallas Warmack.

Nope. Saban took the fun out if it. It's like fishing in an overstocked catfish pond while they are being fed. But it sure beats the hell out of the Shula years when we agonized all year over what a 4 star was gonna do on NSD because he was gonna be our crown jewel.

To your point, Brandon, I remember when Andre Smith signed under Shula. A bona fide 5*. That signing got tons of attention. I wonder how much attention it would have gotten today?

Not much suspense with recruiting nowadays is there.

Whatever man. Landing loads of 3, 4 and 5 stars every year is FUN!

Ahh, I remember those days. Always seemed like the majority of our best recruits were from Mississippi, would never qualify and all played DB.

Ya think Saban saw a trend with those kids from Mississippi?
