@TUSKstuff @BamaFan334 I may have gotten you two confused. Someone was giving me a little hell about Home Depot vs Lowe's a few weeks ago.
I've heard "Chaney coached Brees" more times than I can count. I see an issue with that because Brees wasn't that good of a college quarterback. He's respected for what he's done in the NFL. He's was one of your '2'fers' in college: Two TD's, one INT. Two TD's, one INT.
That said, Pitt was one of the first programs in the country to move to the spread offensive scheme. That's a Joe
Tiller coaching move, not something people point to Chaney and say, "look what he did." It's not a lot different than his time at UT where that offense in '09 was Lane's.
We did see improvement with Allen at Arkansas as he got older. Do we give that to Chaney's influence or Arkansas having two guys surpass 1000 yards on the season where one barely eclipsed that number his first year?
Bottom line with me is this is a lot like Kirby and his head coach position--I'm lacking for things to point to in favor of the Chaney factor with UGA this fall.
