🏈 25 is the key number Saturday per Phil Savage

In his weekly appearance on the opening drive this morning he offered an interesting opinion on the game. He thinks that if either team can score 25 points without throwing 25 passes then they will probably win the game. If Alabama throw more than 25 times, then it probably means we are having trouble running the ball, are behind, or both. Same for Georgia.

I have a question for anyone willing to look it up. Have we played a game with Kiffin as OC where we threw it less than 25 times?

The reason I ask is, Kiffin has used the screen game on the edges more like toss sweeps in the past. I know the UGA QB hasn't thrown it more than 25 in a game. But for us, the pass has been like wiping our ass after taking an Allburn! I would push that number to 35 as far as our passes go.

I couldn't help it so I went ahead and looked. We have only thrown it less than 25 times 3 times. Southern Miss (24), Arkansas (21), and Tennessee (24). I still think we chunk it 30-35 times.

We have only thrown it less than 25 times 3 times.

It's a number worth noting on UGA. They very seldom throw the ball more than 25 times a game.

You'll see them break the 25 mark in blow-outs where the back-up is getting reps. You'll see them break the 25 mark when they are losing; threw the ball A LOT last year when the lost to UF.
