šŸˆ 247Sports' @JoshPateCFB says Nico Iamaleava & others threatened to opt out of last season's CFB playoffs unless they were paid more NIL money:

Gotta ya. Different strokes.
But i will say this.
To be in stands during Julios catch n run vs lsu
Or
Rocky block.
Or
Etc
An incredible experience

But i understand " the crowd" thing
And the drunk stupid obnoxious thing
We are an hour from Neyland in Tennessee and do not go there any more because of the idiots obnoxious stupids.
Am getting to old to be the enforcer anymore.
I was at some of those big moments and I didn't mind the crowds so much 15 years ago but it seems it gets worse every year. I used to not mind cities but I avoid them now if possible. I'm trying to talk my wife into moving onto a sailboat and doing an around the world cruise so we can stop in remote places most tourists don't go. She says I'm turning into a hermit, curmudgeon, etc.. I say I'm tired of dumbasses....

I too have grown tired of the big crowds and irritating and long commute over to T’town and back to the house. I’m much more inclined to sit on my couch and watch from home. No line at the fridge or at the toilet!!

And... look where it landed you. Bama heaven
With friends foes and ???????
I'm trying to remember what year it was...drove out to OK in a Chevy Nova to build a OU website...never would I have dreamed they would be in the SEC that day. Bama was playing State one weekend I was out there. Damn....twenty years ago or so.

I say I'm tired of dumbasses....
Thank you. I'll bring @bama alum back into this one. There's a reason I sent them to Line Street to eat. It avoids the dumbasses that they call "tourist." The worst part of tourist season? I can't shoot 'em. I kid you not. I do not like them.

Just last month I decided I wanted some pulled pork for sandwiches...Rodney Scott's place. I had to drop a FedEx off and knew there would be a box at the "Four Corners of Law." Damn people standing in the middle of the street taking pictures. I'm not a happy camper at this point...it was in the low 30's, drizzling, and these...well. I did casually lower the passenger window when I asked "What the .... "

All because I wanted a sandwich.

I might suggest we are getting old, Kevin. But.

With YouTubeTV, as one example, I can watch five or six games at one time. I mentioned this to Brandon yesterday (I think) I follow Bama baseball on statbroadcast for every game. I wish I could watch them. I can't. But, I can grab my phone and look every few minutes.

On another note...as I mentioned to Brandon as well...someone needs to teach those guys how to keep box scores on a sheet. A CS2 means something to me as well as a 4-6. Ya know?

Sounds like "old man " talk...lol
Cant disagree though....l
Staying at Lake Lurleen (outside of northport) is only reason we keep doing it...( under renovations this year though)
Camping....living somewhere different for part of year...doing something different...bring our bike n ride different places....etc

But i know what you mean....

That's quite the proposal. If that gets legs, it needs its own thread. We have the phone photo thread, which has turned into a bit of "I am here", and we've got great trip reports like the one from @Bamabww Wayne's trip to Scotland and Ireland.

Maybe a travel thread with reports and recommendations?

We're still 3 to 5 years out, planning to do a week live aboard next year to see how she likes it. Been to a couple boat shows to look.

Travel thread sounds like a good idea, we travel "full time" but really travel about 6 months a year and spend the other half in alabama and key west.

I used to love it! 100k+ inside BDS and being right in the middle of it! Seeing both the good and the bad take place, from Rocky Block and Julio, Joe Pa visiting, to ā€˜11, in ā€˜19 and being recognized for our ā€˜89 SEC Championship and the game of the century and Johnny Football in ā€˜12.
It is just a 2 hour drive over to T’town from the house. The wife and I got frustrated when the Covid season came and the University spilt up the home package into two yet wanted full price for all 5. Now with NIL, my interest really isn’t what it used to be. I NEVER thought I would feel that way!!

I do the same with baseball. I love the statbroadcast!

Setting aside @ElephantStomp and his habitual need for pornhub, it's one of the best sites on the web.

Nice. I'm hopeful this is the year we get fully down to one house, and get most of the landscaping at the lake done in the fall. Still, we are taking the grandkids off for a week to do kid things around Dallas, doing the river cruise Amsterdam to Basel, and I'm about 80 percent sure I'm going to solo the West Highland Way in September. I can fly round trip to Edinburgh for 56,000 miles on Delta, and stay in a tent most nights, so it would a be cheap trip.

Next year, we'll do at least one European trip, and I'm hopeful to get in at least two meaningful backpacking trips. I still have a plan to catamaran in US/BVI, just waiting for a couple couples to retire.

Sounds like some good trips coming up. Dallas/ Fort Worth was a pretty decent spot for kids but I got tired of Texas pretty quick heading west from there. We want to do an Amsterdam trip at some point, my great uncle who I'm named after is buried over there. We also want to do a Scotland and Ireland trip. Considering driving through the Baltic states on the Amsterdam trip.

A catamaran is the only thing she'll consider. Looking in the 40 to 45 foot range. Balance and Seawind are two i want to go look at.

Dallas will be a hard core grandkids centric, revolving around water parks and the American Girl store.

We've not been to Scotland or Ireland, and initially my wife wasn't open to me hiking there first. I promised I was going to hike, not to tour and take in the whole country, and that we'd go later. I need to hike while I can and she graciously agreed to it.

I think the Baltics would be great. We were involved in a Methodist mission in Estonia - a great story about an underground Methodist church that survived Soviet rule - so I've always wanted to go there.

Best of luck with the test drive and boat selection. For the room, I don't think you can beat a catamaran. You can have three or four berths (or more) down below, and tons of common area on up.

I have a long list of things I'd like to do, hiking the AT and PCT being on there. I'm sure I won't get to all of it but I'm sure enjoying the things I have done. Probably don't need to start looking at hiking overseas and adding to my list.

The cats are huge room wise, she wants one for the room and the fact that the salon is very open and has 360 visibility unlike monohulls. The 3 cabin owners version is a must as well, gotta have the large bathroom. If it gets her on a boat I'm OK with most requests but I do want something that'll sail fairly well.
