| RECRUIT šŸˆ 2024 Transfer Portal Thread - DB DaShawn Jones has Committed to Alabama

Not confident we can keep all those guys in that ILB room after the playoffs from transferring. That's why getting a guy like Dumas-Johnson, or Sorey would be nice. Fully expect Lawson to be back, and Campbell doesn't have a choice. Fully expect Alexander to play his way into playing more, he's gonna be good whenever he gets enough reps at the position. Expect us to move a couple of guys to that room if we lose some to the portal. We've got a few recruits coming in that'll develop into good players whenever they get their chance, but they're true freshman.... so we'll need more experienced guys at the position. I hope I'm wrong, and that we can keep most of the guys in that room.

BIGTIME!!!! Having the 2 most Important games coming up to prepare for and this smack dab in the middle of it, has to be a royal pain in the ass for the staffs at these final 4 schools. Next year with 12, it will be interesting to see if they change this.

It'll get changed, just not sure when... I'd bet it gets done quick though. There's too many coaches mad about how this December calendar shakes out for something not to get done... problem is, seems like most every time they try to fix one problem, it causes another one...

I would prefer it after the last game at least, but I am sure most of the Coaching staff would want a break at that point. The money that is shifting around right now makes it impossible to have a good timeline for this BS.

I'm sure there are better ideas out there, but I think they should only let players who have graduated transfer in December without penalty, but start the transfer window a bit later and slide the window a little deeper into Jan. All other 1 time transfers should have to wait until after the spring semester then have about 5 weeks starting May 1st to transfer. Then maybe 1 final 10 day window at the end of July, early August before the season begins.

I don't really care. Let them go and find a place for them, let these other guys get the reps in practice. I feel that's more beneficial between both parties.

At the very least slide it out from the playoffs. Total distraction. I like your thoughts on this.
