The ladies will get a bye on Wednesday the first round of the tournament. They will open up against Kentucky in Game 3, a noon tip-off on the SEC Network. It's the #8 vs #9 matchup. A win against Kentucky puts Alabama against the #2 ranked team in the nation, Mississippi State, at noon on Friday (same TV coverage.)

Here's the latest standings and how the bracket breaks down:

Coach Curry has done a great job turning the ladies' program around! It's been a LONG time since the ladies have been to the WNCAAT!!! Since '99 to be exact!!
The ladies version of Lunardi, Charlies Creme, has seven SEC teams in right now in his latest "Bracketology." If we take his bracket as gospel, Bama isn't in, or even on the bubble, and would have to play their way into the tourney. I can see the ladies winning on Thursday against Kentucky but facing Mississippi State on Friday?

Changing the subject here for a quick hijack:

You recall when California issued their travel ban on eight states due to what they considered to be LGBT rights issues? One of those states was Texas. Now, take a look at the Lexington bracket. There's a slim chance that USC gets out of the Columbia bracket--especially with the lady Gamecocks holding the #3 seed in that region and hosting the 1st and 2nd round games. But, if they did they'd be looking at heading to Austin since Texas is a #2 seed.

I'm guessing the travel ban gets lifted, or in other words ignored.
