Awesome list, Bradenob. I love this type of stuff.

A few potential things I could see differently:

WR: I believe A. Stewart will declare for the draft. Don't see Rob Foster on your list, but I'd expect him or Cam Sims to step into that spot.

OL: That OL group looks awesome. After a few year's of seeing our JUCO OT's struggle, I'm going to guess that Cotton slides over to RT. Next guess would be Leatherwood or Lashley. And maybe Pettibone, Warmack, or a freshman plays Guard opposite of Ross P.

DL: Probably the biggest ?'s at this position. Payne will clearly be the stud, with Hand hopefully taking a big step forward. That other end spot is worrisome. King never made an impact. I expected Q Williams to get some time this year but he may have red shirted? I can't see Saban not bringing in a grad transfer on the DL, and hopefully a really good one. If not, I expect Saban to start either R. Davis or Josh Frazier and move Payne to the other DE in base. The incoming freshman Byers is really, really impressive. He's one of those freakishly big and fast kids that may be ready to roll like Allen was. And one last ditch effort for a stud DE could be Anfernee Jennings puttong on some lbs and moving to DE. Super long shot, obviously.

OLB: (I can't distinguish the 2 positions, seems like they do the same stuff anyway). Something to keep an eye on is R. Evans to move back to OLB full time. He had played more there than MLB until SDH injury. A strong finish for him at MLB would be ideal, obviously. He, Jennings, and Miller, and Terrell Hall would be a great rotation. Hall being the darkhorse to pass up C. Miller... His size/speed is just to intriguing to not push for snaps.

MLB: SDH, R. Evans (possible OLB) Mack Wilson, Ben Davis, Holcombe, Cowan. Got to find 3 studs! SDH injury complicates things for sure.

CB: Still thinking Marlon will come back. Would be one of those huge "additions" (like jon Allen) that makes your defense great. Other than Avarett, feels like a traffic jam. Shy Carter had some good reports early on, but his size could be an issue. Could see Knott or Mayden stepping in behind Tony Brown as the third CB option if Marlon leaves.

Safety:S While it seems like Hootie is a shoe in, I could see Saban going with a better coverage guy to offset Harrison. Possibly even Tony Brown. If Deionte Thompson shows out in Spring practice maybe he's the guy. I've been a huge Hootie believer since he signed, but feels like Saban has been more about coverage than physicality. Hootie a little bigger and more mechanical than some of the other fluid DB's. I know Saban liked him as the Dime back this year, maybe he keeps in more comfortably in that role.

Obviously the freshman are huge wildcards. Would have been hard to predict Jonah Williams starting every game and being an absolute stud all season. Same as Jacobs stepping up and playing such a huge role in the offense. Obviously, Hurts too. I've admittadly not followed recruiting near as closely this season, but a few guys who's tapes stand out to me as dudes who may help next season are : WR Juedy, OT Leatherwood, and DL Byers. IMO Byers is the most intriguing player in our class. This guy is like 6'4 275 and moves extremely fast. Got to think the staff will have him up to 285 by game 1, and that's big enough to play. He will be one to keep an eye on.

Long winded, sorry. RTR!

We have so many options at the LB slot, inside and out, it is truly an embarrassment of riches kind of thing. Jennings, Davis, Wilson, Moses, etc, it's crazy over there. And Pruitt has them reacting more than thinking through their assignment. Williams, Byers, Davis, 3 younguns that should take their place on the D-line.

Where's the 'Hulk' these days? And any chance we get him back?

Well, the embarrassment continues at RB, WR, LB... IF Marlon returns we look great at CB, even though Sheffield left. OL may not be an embarrassment at tackle, but THIS upcoming class may take care of that- OG looks deep. Safety needs depth, DL, maybe DE. And a backup punter would be nice, LOL!!! Thank you Coach Saban and Staff!!!

As far as the Hulk, no follow up articles, couldn't find him in a brief Google search.

TS - not long winded at all. Lots to talk about really.....

So what's all this about Lashley from you guys? Didn't hear that much about him.... I am just hoping that FOR ONCE a JUCO guy works out. Good point about Cotton - Saban DID say that he didn't seem to have the reaction instincts of a guard.

On the WRs, I would wonder what kind of GRADE Ardarius would get. He is electric, but just coming into his own as a receiver. He would probably test well, but if he doesn't get a good grade he won't go to combine. He might not get that grade because there's not a lot of downfield reception film on him. Concerning R Foster, I thought he would show up this year, but he's gotten a bit lost like a Chris Black type. He might look elsewhere like Black.

On the DL would love to see a question from the press about Jamar King - did he just need a year? Can he help next year? Would love to know. Concerning Q Williams, I think he just decided to wait and get bigger. J Allen says he will be a beast next year based on tenacity alone.
If you're excited about Byers that's great news - hadn't read much on him and I hardly ever look at film.

Would love to hear someone that knows more than me analyze the secondary. Minkah might be at safety beside Harrison next year. I agree about Hootie - he's played well as best I can tell, but if Thompson is faster I think he's the better option against passing teams. We need ANOTHER Minkah type - maybe that's Daniel Wright, the recruit? Nigel Knott's athleticism is fascinating, but not sure where he goes - maybe Star behind Brown? And of course Brown could be a very physical corner on the other side of Averett.

Exciting, interesting times. We should be up there again next year with tOSU, FSU, playing for the title again!

Mike Bernier (sitting 2016) "So" Madison, Al (Transfer from E. Ill U.) http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2016/05/alabama_walk-on_punter_gave_up.html
"...Not long before Mike signed, Sonja Bernier was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer that had metastasized to the bone. She insisted that Mike go to Eastern Illinois and take advantage of his scholarship.

"When I was up there, I tried not to think about it, but it was always on my mind," he said of his mom's condition. "No matter what I was doing, I was always thinking about my mom. The later it got in the season, the more I thought about it and I came to the decision that I should come home."
Mike went on to average 37.7 yards per punt in 12 games for the FCS Panthers, and he garnered an Ohio Valley Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honor. But despite the success, Mike couldn't focus his full attention on football.
So Mike gave up the coveted scholarship and moved during winter break. He never thought twice about his decision. "

Seems every class gets a couple Walk On Punters and Kickers, no reason to think this one would be different. Come on Cody Mandel 2.0!!!

Kendell Jones, a four-star defensive tackle from Shoemaker High School (Killeen, Texas), will not enroll at Alabama this year after failing to qualify academically, multiple sources told SEC Country. He began junior college classes Monday, his father, Kendell Sr., told SEC Country. Kendell Sr. would not say in which school his son has enrolled. He will have to spend two years in junior college and will be free to sign with any school upon graduation. When Nick Saban spoke at SEC spring meetings last week, he said one player had not qualified yet, but did not provide any additional details. Jones committed to Alabama in May 2015 and did not waver on his commitment after choosing the Crimson Tide over LSU, Texas A&M, Texas and Baylor. He only took one official visit during his recruitment, and that was to Alabama. The 6-foot-5, 375-pounder nicknamed “Hulk” was one of three defensive tackle signees in the 2016 class. Raekwon Davis, the four-star who had his own academic issues, and Quinnen Williams were the others.

Bump... because I'm already having withdrawals. Each year becomes a little more embarrassment of riches. We're so stacked!! Can't wait until spring ball!

btw... Jonah William's year was phenomenal! Great production and I can only remember a couple of procedure penalties. This guy has a great future.
