I can't recall us making a big game, or a rivalry game our homecoming game. Homecoming has that really long halftime, and that impacts the T.V. broadcast, which major networks don't like.

Does this make sense, in leading me to think that UT will not be the HC game...thus Vandy?

Could it reasonably be Tennessee?

Alabama played LSU at Homecoming when Franchione was there. I remember it like a bad dream. LSU set a record for passing yards against Bama. The defense used a soft zone and LSU got 5-10yds on every quick out or curl route.

And this was me in the stands > :swear:

LSU and Jimbo Fisher called that route 80 Cab. The outside guy ran a 8yd speed out. The inside receiver runs an option route(deep or curl) and they ran it all day long to the tune of 528yds in the air.

ughhhh! In my 11 years as a Tide Prider thats the only home game I ever left early. It was just sickening. I could see what they were doing from Section B, but apparently the coaching staff couldnt.

I spoke with Jimbo at a coaching clinic the next spring and we spoke at length about that particular play. He said that as long as the Corner played soft, the out was a freebie. If they tried man or press man, the fade was their adjustment. We played soft all game long and Rohan Davey looked like a future NFL Hall of Famer.

Weather it's Vandy or Tenn, I thought homecoming games were usually a softer team. The last 2 years we've played an SEC team for homeconming. This will be the 3rd year, SEC team for homecoming-Vandy or Tenn. I'm willing to bet it's Tenn.
