...which is touched on briefly by Saban in the presser. (video is posted on the forum)

We had several of the key guys report to camp in the summer of 2010 not where they needed to by physically.

The description that I heard last night which I found the most humorous took me a minute to grasp. He said, "...reminds me of a new plane."

As you probably just did, my reaction was, "do what?"

"Sleek, detailed, you know...streamlined."

Of course Saban puts it in "coach speak" during his comments to the press.

There's one I'm setting aside.

Others:

Comments and reports on a few players I'm paying no attention to, as of yet. I don't have reason to suspect Lacy is still rehabbing his toe. But, we aren't into heavy cutting drills either. That'll be answered in more detail as the first week continues.

Morris: Yes, he does look mature. But, just because a kid has all the tools to be a solid QB means nothing at this point. That said, I won't be surprised in the least if he's ready to assume the #2 role—if need be—by mid-season. And yes, I'm still of the opinion we'd go to Blake if need be.

Physically, Tana is looking like Jerrell reported last season. It's not a mistake to have high hopes for him this season.

My first question after today's practice: How is Harrison Jones looking?

I know we have plenty of potential behind Michael Williams, but like you Terry, WHO is it? Will it be Harrison, Faciane, Vogler, etc?

I stated on an earlier thread in response to who would be #2 behind AJ, and I said Look out for Morris. Some questioned me but I stand by it. By mid season, he'll be #2. I like the Ely kid, but Morris will be better. Like you Terry, I think Blake will get snaps IF needed in a game situation before Morris would. I think it will be similar to how AJ was #2 by mid season in 09 but never took a snap.

Yes sir.

That explains the failure of the 2010 team because if there ever needed to be a "sleek, detailed, you know, streamlined" squad, it was the 2010 Bama team. No team in CFB history faced a more daunting schedule not entirely of their own making than did 2010 Bama. The three consecutive Top 15 teams in three consecutive weeks, the third road game in four weeks(SC), the fifth road game in eight weeks(LSU), and the six byes probably could not have been navigated without loss by a "sleek, detailed, you know, streamlined" team. It certainly was not going to be done by one that was not.
