We will do well at home though according to our resident experts.
Porter said:We are currently sitting at 12 seniors on scholarship. Andre will likely leave after next season as well, so that opens 13 spots. There will undoubtedly be another round of attrition, but I think we'll be starting with 13 scholarships to give when the '09 season ends.
His favorite sports writers are Gary Parrish (CBS Sportsline), Woody Paige (Denver Post) and Bill Plaschke (LA Times).
Tider27 said:Yeah we're extremely limited in numbers right now. If they're on top of our board and a top ranked prospect, Coach Saban will find a spot for them. We're looking at 20 recruits max, and that might be pushing it.
Oh and I'm familiar with the bleacher report. They've been 'recruiting' writers lately, it's nothing but a bunch of amateurs. Can't be too good of a site if they liked what I've written.

Wow. I guess I didn't realize it was that low. By definition, is that a young team or what?
I hope 'dre doesn't go pro but doesn't he graduate early? That may not be good unless he pulls a Peyton Manning on us.

Tana Patrick isn't considered a BAMA lock from what I'm hearing. While Nico is more of a lock for us what I've seen and read indicates that UGA might be the leader for Patrick's services. BAMA may sign him in the end but UGA is in a strong position right now.
Also, IMHO I just don't see BAMA getting the top class in the nation this time around. Much of that is due to numbers. We just might not have the available slots to accumulate the points needed for the #1 spot. If we could sign the full compliment then it might be different.
Either way, we'll have a very good class. Enjoyed the article too. Thanks for linking that.

A guy who is a fan of Auburn that I communicate with occasionally sent me a C&P of a thread running on one of their forums about Nico being down on Bama and was asking if there was any truth to it.

FWIW, I suspect when he whittles down his list it'll be between Bama, USCw, and Florida. Urban Meyer has been after him pretty hard.

A good note about Nico. You know, he's attending Andalusia but he has a former coach that is now at Demopolis. That coach is beginning to develop a real good relationship with Coach Saban due to our recruitment of Nico and how it's being handled. Which in turn has us all over a great player coming up for the 2010 class.

He's one of the guys I fully expect to be upgraded on Rivals to a 5* this fall.
