Approved last year, UA trustees will vote on football projects

The proposed 21,486-square-foot, two-story dining facility that would be added to the north side of the Mal Moore Athletic Facility at UA would replace Bryant Dining as the athletic dining hall. The committee quickly approved a preliminary plan and project budget of $12 million with little discussion.

The new facility, which will be paid for with university funds, will feature a commercial kitchen, storage space for dry and cold goods, seating for 440, and office for nutritional staff. The proposal from UA cites new NCAA guidelines for student athlete nutrition and proximity to existing conditioning and training rooms for the decision to build a new facility. The proposal states the new dining hall’s proximity to the training facilities would optimize fueling and recovery habits and positively affect student-athlete performance, health and well being.
