🏈 You've got to be kidding me (regarding 2011 schedule)

All along I've been hearing the SEC will make changes which ensure no team will have to face an opponent idle the week before said game more than 3 times. Now I read this and read the stinkin' small print (in the case of Alabama we'll do what we want when we want). Ugh, why even have a "rule" when it really only applies to any team not named Alabama?

So now thanks to the help of our freakin' SEC scheduling department Alabama will have 4 fresh and rested opponents in 2011 vs. 6 for the current season. Thanks SEC, really appreciate that attempt at fairness.

You have to understand though that to the SEC (and most of the rest of college football) that "fairness" is defined as handicapping Alabama as much as possible because it's just not "fair" that Bama has been so dominant in the past and appears to be on track to do so again.

There was no way for them to make all the changes at once due to the fact that most of teams already had most of the schedules done. It will work its self out by 2012 I am sure.

Doesn't surprise me in the least. When we say something about it we are just a bunch of whiney bammers. Put these schedules on any other team and you would see some serious meltdowns. I guess it just proves that we are paying people off.:rofl:

I COMPLETELY agree with this. Next year's schedule is looking mighty good to me. And when you consider that AU is losing about 22 seniors plus Camshaft Newton will probably go pro, that "@Auburn" game is looking pretty good, too!

This is correct because the 2011 schedule was released to the schools nine years ago.

From the top of page 2 in OP link: "SEC Associate Commissioner Mark Womack has been tasked with creating the 10-year cycle of schedules for league schools that begins in 2012,..."

There have been two previous ten year bundles of schedules released. 1992-2001 and 2002-2011. Both by Roy Kramer. The last of which was in 2001 just prior to his retirement in 2002.

Need I say more?
