I ordered a Shop Card on Costco's web site...like I've done quite a few times. I used the same card I always use. After almost an entire day of waiting (it usually takes a couple hours for the card to show up in my email), they cancel the order. I try again, same card, confirming all the information is correct...order canceled again.

WTH?!!! And I know it wasn't canceled by my bank (Capital One) as the emails came from Costco, NOT my bank. And the reason they gave was:

Please review your Costco.com details:
  • Credit Card or Payment information
  • Billing and/or Shipping information
Well, I triple checked everything the 2nd time around...all good. But I know everything was correct anyway because my membership account is renewed automatically on that same card and THAT transaction went through just fine.

I'm chatting with someone at Costco, now, to see if I can get it resolved.
 
This is my bank card. If I order something and the bank put a hold on it. I will get a call/text back from the frauds company. If I don't call them and tell them it was me. My card is on hold ,which mean I can't use it. Right now I have a message on my bank website tell me not to give out my number. :rolleyes:
 
I (hopefully) got it resolved. The person in the chat had to talk to someone in IT. And they had to re-verify everything. They asked if I'd used a different computer or was using a VPN. Nope. I used the same PC I've been using for the past 3+ years. And I used the same card I always use. The only thing I can think of that MIGHT have caused an issue is I'm on Win11, now, instead of Win10. But it was weird because I used that same card to order Shop Cards a few weeks ago, and I also renewed my Costco account last week using the same card.

So now I have to wait until the bank puts those funds back onto the card so I can try it one more time.
