I hate to hear that. IMO he's their most consistent RB and a good kid by all accounts. Hopefully, he can make a full recovery and have no lasting effects.
The report this morning said it was 275lbs that slammed across his throat. I hate it for him and my prayers are for his recovery. It reminds me of my time on the Capstone when big Robert Stewart was warming up at the bench when he had the bar "bend" in his hands and 450lbs slammed across his chest. We halped get him to the training room and Robert kept ice on his chest for about 20 minutes. He came back to the weightroom later and benched 515lbs saying he "felt a little tight".
Chances are, the kid was working out with a partner but at that weight, the partner didn't see the need to spot. On the extremely haevy stuff you will see 3 spotters.
