the most rewarding thing about all of this is, it wasn't too long ago I will admit to just hoping we were in the "OTHERS RECIEVING VOTES" list.

but no matter how far BAMA has come, lets not forget the journey is really just beginning as far as long term, sustained success that this TRADITION RICH program truly deserves.

I have never been one to hide my COLORS in the down years, but I am absolutley PROUD to wear the CRIMSON & WHITE during these glorious times on the CAPSTONE.
.

I proudly wore my crimson and white during the Shula era. Caught to much flack for it, esp. at Orange Beach where to many LSU fans choose to go on vacation. " Aw looky there, a Bama fan, ain't that cute." While I'm thinking in the back of my mind, just wait till we get a better coach , (never dreamed of Saban), and the effects of probation are gone. I didn't expect success this early, but man I love it. Some call us delusional, I call us realist.

I'm with you Butcher. I proudly hung my Alabama banner in front of my house when we were 6-6, and passed only a "knowing" grin to my next door neighbor who is an LSU fan. (Yes, he is just as quiet now as you would anticipate :D ).

Some called us a delusional fan base, I call up FINISHERS of the coaching process. RTR!

I know the feeling boys, I live in Tennessee, so you can imagine the ammount of orange I have to put up with. I'm lucky enough to live beside an Alabama fan, although I do have an Auburn fan on the other side....It sure is nice seeing Bama #1 in the BCS (for the first time in the BCS's short-lived history) scroll accross the bottom of the screen on ESPN. It has been a tough road for the program but true fans (like most on this site) have helped carry the load. I told my son yesterday that the last time Bama was ranked #1 in the AP poll was the day that my wife and I got married (we were supposed to get married on New Years Day 1993 but put it off 1 day for the National Championship game). We still have some tough games ahead but it is so refreshing to be here!

Unconditional support is all I have ever given the Tide. As my signature pic shows, I was proud to dress my son in crimson when he was a baby in 1995 and I'm proud to get him a crimson warm-up suit now that he's a teenager in 2008.

I'm giving away my age here, but I told my kids this is the Alabama football I grew up with. I'm telling you to lose 1 or 2 back then was devastating. They finally get it now. :)

They're so excited and finally understand why Alabama is so big. Bless their hearts they've spent their days at Bryant-Denny being glad for a win against Arkansas State, Ole Miss, Miss. State, Vandy, anyone. I know 'cause I was right there with them. Oh, we'd scream, cheer and jump around with the best of them for the big games too, but the win just never happened in those.

I know #1 could all end this week or next or whenever. We've all suffered a lot of frustration and mocking over the past decade or so. Even with my super nervous game week personality I'm going to enjoy the heck out of this week.

I've sported and supported the Tide for my entire life...it's just a lot more fun doing it now. :)
