I don't think she would have outrun the throw. Not sure how Garza missed that, looks like she was turning for throw to home and stopped thinking about securing the ball.

As soon as I saw Murphy sending her home my heart skipped a few beats. People, myself included, would have been questioning that call this morning if she'd have made the throw.
Take a second and think about what kind of collision that would have been if the throw had been made and Molly would have tried to take on TAMU's catcherānot a small girl by any means.
Murphy always sends them and I love it, pressure is always the best offense plus the game was tied then with the number 8 hitter coming up to bat that was 0-3 on the night

I certainly understand the reasoning and likely would have done the same thing.
On top of what you've mentioned, there's the chance of the cutoff being missed (which happened,) the throw to the catcher being off, the catcher missing the throw, missing the tag, the collision which may have knocked the ball loose IF all the other things happened to be pulled off.
Still Lance, if I were to bet on your reaction/thought, it was "that was close."
I was hoping Murph would send her. Bama's bats were on fire, and the worst that could happen is extra innings. Nice win for the ladies. Pitching will have to be better vs Florida.
