šŸˆ With Fromm leaving UGA, which SEC team returns the best quarterback?

In his limited role, Mac would have been ahead of the primary QB on 2 of the SEC teams (Ole Miss and Arkansas). Extrapolated out to the number of attempts Burrow made, he would have had a little over 100 yards fewer than Burrow and like 7 TD less (although 4 more INT). Yeah, Mac should be the best coming back.

Here's a question to ponder.

Which team in the SEC has the best returning QB?

Statistically? Trask but I doubt both he AND Franks will be on Florida's roster next season.

Here's the QBs returning with starting experience:
  • Alabama: Mac Jones (4 starts, 1,503 yards and 14 TD w/3 INT in 2019)
  • Arkansas: Ryan Starkel (5 starts; 1,152 yards and 7 TD w/10 INT in 2019)
  • Auburn: Bo Nix (12 starts; 2,542 yards and 16 TD w/6 INT; also 313 yards and 7 TD rushing)
  • Florida: Kyle Trask (10 starts; 2,941 yards and 24 TD w/7 INT in 2019)
  • Florida: Feleipe Franks (3 starts, 698 yards and 5 TD w/3 INT in 2019; 2,457 yards and 24 TD w/6 INT in 2018)
  • Georgia: n/a
  • Kentucky: Sawyer Smith: (6 starts; 690 yards and 4 TD w/5 INT in 2019)
  • LSU: n/a
  • Missouri: Taylor Powell (1 start, 297 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT in 2019)
  • Missouri: Connor Bazelak (1 start, 144 yards in 2019)
  • Ole Miss: Matt Corrall (4 starts; 1,362 yards and 6 TD w/3 INT in 2019)
  • Ole Miss: John Plumlee Jr. (8 starts; 910 yards and 3 TD w/3 INT and 1,023 yards and 12 TD rushing in 2019)
  • South Carolina: Ryan Hillinski (10 starts; 2,357 yards and 11 TD w/5 INT in 2019)
  • Tennessee: Jarrett Guarantano (10 starts; 2,158 yards and 16 TD w/8 INT in 2019)
  • Tennessee: Brian Mauerer (3 starts; 541 yards and 2 TD w/5 INT in 2019)
  • Texas A&M: Kellan Mond (12 starts; 2,897 yards and 20 TD w/9 INT in 2019. Also, 501 rushing yards and 8 TD)
  • Vanderbilt: n/a
Of that bunch I would say....
1) Mac Jones
2) Trask
3) Mond
4) Plumlee
5) Nix

Gatewood could be possibly in that discussion next year too.

Pretty sure Frsnks has already announced he's transferring for his last year. Wasn't Trask a senior too?

Forgot about Mond. He had his good days and bad days. I'd say Mack followed by Mond and Nix. Not looking just at stats. Fromm move surprises me, honestly. He wins, but his stats aren't that strong. I'd take Hurts any day over Fromm.

I’m not sure Mac is the best QB in the SEC coming back, but he’s got to be up there.

That dude saying Nix is the best is an idiot. He wasn’t very good at all most of the time.
Signme up as "idiot" there....but nix was a true freshman last year...was upn down...without a decent running game to help....
He will be improved.....as most improve betwee freshman and sophomore years....
He should come back as best in sec.... but whether it helps AU with their D losses...hard to say....
The TN QB may come back improved ....

I certainly wouldn't call you an idiot but a little lost seems to fit.

"...without a decent running game?" AU was the fourth best rushing team in the conference last season: top third in the nation among all teams.

Trask, Mond, Guarantano, Corral, Hilinski, and Jones all had better completion percentages last season than Nix and while he did beat out the two Mississippi QB's (MSU's by .1%) they both had better ratings on the season. That completion percentage puts him 88th out of the top 100 across collegiate football.

Why should he come back as best in the SEC when there's more than a handful of QB's in the SEC that are better than he is already? Are you suggesting Gus has finally learned how to coach a QB?

Jake from State Fromm probably did the best thing going to the draft, because I don't believe he'd have improved his stock with this scenario:
