šŸ“” With expansion, Alabama Football vs. Georgia doesn't mean what it once did - Bama Hammer

I still think it is significant in terms of making a statement one way or the other for where these two programs are. Has Bama fallen off? Is Georgia the new king of the SEC? A lot of folks think so. Personally you guys know I think it is a challenging road in CKD’s first year at Bama. Bama will not be as good under him this year as they will be.

It means something to everyone. The point is it means less now than it used to given the new format. We could very well end up playing them 3 times this season. Of the three potential contests, I'd say the last one means the most by far.

As far as recruiting I think it means something, like the other two. We put on a good show at home, it'll bring guys in. We lose, people start believing "Saban's gone and Alabama is done yadda yadda".

I too worry about perception among recruits post-Saban. But winning a Natty would cure that, even if we went 1-2 against UGA this season. On the other hand, going 2-1 against them with them winning another Natty would be bad.

I believe it’s important in the sense that Georgia’s trying to prove they don't have a BAMA problem. And Bama is gonna be trying to prove we’re still the measuring stick in the hardest conference in the nation.

And both teams are looking at that by week and the importance of having that week off. And hosting.
