I believe Gus has used up all his tokens of good will at HogVille over these past several coaching changes. Jim Sexton has used them as leverage with the Barn folks for a better deal at AU.

Of those listed Leach is the best option but I doubt he will head into the current mess unless he really wants to prove he can get it done in the SEC.

If Mack Brown can return to UNC... then I honestly feel Ark should reach out to Houston Nutt. That guys has energy and class and could reignite the fanbase. Plus due was a damn good coach who just got caught up with some crap at his first stay in Fayetteville (Malzahn), and some unreasonable expectations in Ole Miss.

The auburn living legend may want to listen this time if Arkansas comes calling again. He wears a shit eating grin these days because, he's good no matter what. The barn is in wait and see mode right now. It's almost like they are just hoping that the pigs come calling again so that they can finally be out from under this nightmare that they created for themselves with that ridiculous raise and extension. But if he is offered that job again, he really should consider it this time. Unlike 2017, he can't use it as leverage. There is no more money to be gained. If he could go there and just win an SEC game in his first season, they would consider that a huge step forward. Get to a bowl game...and he's set for life there.

The Hog and Mizzou should ask for a divorce from the SEC and both head on back to the Big 12. Neither have a chance in the SEC with LSU,Bama,Barn,and A&M running the West and UGA,UF,and UT (will return to being a solid team in 2020). Maybe Jurah Jones and the Wall-Marks folks can talk Gary Patterson into leaving those Purple Frogs.

So, when you say "Word around town is that no promising coach wants anything to do with the Arkansas job" no one knows what that means. Word around what town? From whom? Ralphie from his corner spot at the bar?

It's like "word around the water cooler at work has Netflix stock about to split" only to find out we're talking about the water fountain at the 7-11.

There's no issue other than it was an odd comment referencing somewhere no one knows. See what I mean?
