🏈 With all these coaching changes...is UT the most stable program in the East?

I have to say its Florida. Sure the east was weak this year, but how many people thought that they would win the east? If their qb doesnt get suspended, florida is giving Alabama a much tougher time in the championship. Georgia is a wildcard depending on how successful Smart can be, being the head coach.

I'd agree with @TerryP and say Viles sit at #1 followed very closely by UF. I know McElwain is in his first year there, but he is such a stable, even keeled person. Meanwhile Bitch Jones, I mean Butch, may screw up enough in important games to get his ass fired.

I agree with Pink. All butter teeth has to do is implement his offense, get the players that fit his style (inside a very good recruiting state), and just beat UGA and Tennessee. Butch Jones has only beaten UGA to prove he's worthy. Tennessee does bring a vast majority of their team back next year, but Butch Jones' inability to put away games is a pretty eye opening problem.

Florida, easy. CJM will likely be there a long time.

There are times I look at UF and they remind me of Bama in 2008.

There are times I look at McElwain and I'm reminded of Mike Price. I'm not referring to the Destiny aspect, but more of how he related to the fan base. I'm starting to see UF fans begin to say, "Wha?"

Did I just hear McElwain left it to a player vote to reinstate a suspended player? I wonder if he's put a "leadership council" in place.

I thought UF 2012 was Bama '08 as well, perhaps even more so than this year's UF team. At the time, I thought UF was rising under Muschamp to rule the East. Maintaining momentum is a tricky thing. I wonder how many of these coaches who have turned programs around in one to three years could maintain them for six, eight or ten years - or more. I was talking football with a buddy and this subject came up, guys who stayed with programs for a long period of time, like Jeff Bower at Southern Miss. He had a good run of 14 winning seasons in a row, but in the end SoMiss wanted more. Petersen at Boise is another example, and a good contrast to his predecessor Dan Hawkins, who cratered at Colorado.

RTR,

Tim
