šŸˆ Wisconsin players confident entering Alabama game, say Buckeyes provided Tide 'wake-up call'

I agree that we helped make him look like a bad ass, as did Oregon. But going into the B1O championship game he had like 1,200 yds rushing. .

We didnt "make" him look like a bad ass. He is one, but i know there are people who can judge talent for what it is...and then there are stat idiots who need to be told by Espn who is good and who isnt. So i have to play nice on here for the below average fan. Oh well.

But you made a good call drafting him in your fantasy league.

Actually i didnt. I thought i hinted as much in my previously response but sometimes i expect too much from the common Bama fan and not realize there are a lot of noobs out there who can not only judge talent but cant understand a simple point being made.

I will be extremely disappointed if this Bama defense gives up 24 points to a Wisconsin team

I will be very upset if they score more than 10 points.

I won't be disappointed or upset if the Tide gives up 24 or 10 (of course that comes with the assumption Bama comes away with a W.)

Consider: The two best teams Bama has faced in the season opener are WVU and VT. The defense gave up 23 and 24 respectively. Both teams presented different attacks from their QB just like both teams likely had a better QB at the time of the game. (I have no doubt Clint Trickett had a game Slave won't duplicate.)

Two teams have been held to 10 points: Clemson and VT again. If we look at the average we're talking about a bit over 16 points allowed.

We'll have mistakes. If history is an indicator one will be on special teams in coverage on kicks. The defense has always given up one or two big-plays (no matter how good the defense has been.) It's just a trait of playing man on the corners.

Bottom line with me: Considering it's the first game, against an opponent with a new coach and a new system, and outside of Pitt the staff doesn't really know what kind of game Wisky is going to call...seeing three TD's given up isn't a stretch of the imagination.

I can agree with this. I just question their defense also, so I'm hoping there's a more conservative, heavier run, control TOP gameplan.

He's Maurice Clarett 2.
With a better moral compass hopefully.

we will have a busted assignment on a kick return

I know that's going to tick some people off. It does every year. The good thing is each special teams grouping we've seen, each year, corrects those mistakes.

We're going to have some frosh out there forget assignments/lanes. It sucks, but it's understandable given so few days of practice they'll have.

"Who's to say we can't beat Alabama?" Wisconsin running back Corey Clement said, according to ESPN. "They proved they can be beat. This conference can play with the best of them. I think (Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl) kind of gave Alabama a wake-up call."

i'm not so sure this guy knows what a "wake-up call" is.

if we got a wake-up call, then that means we would be more ready than otherwise. and i don't think they want that. you should want a team to be good and be ready when you play them, but you don't want them to be more ready.

and this guy's in college? kinda makes me scared about the future.....

Everyone is supposed to run around to the left or right of the blocker and one has a brain fart, opening up a gaping hole for a long return. Or the scatter brained kicker goes down the middle on a sideline coverage or goes oppo sideline. It happens!

When they've been burned ...

Let's put it this way. You don't have to be a D1 coach to see it, recognize the error and who screwed up.

Both Wisky and Pitt had decent kick return teams last year ranking in the top third of D1 teams. I suspect if we can keep the kick between the goal line and the five yard line they won't get past the 25 on returns...AS LONG as assignments are maintained.
