šŸ“” Why Tua Tagovailoa is in the best position to 'win the team' at Alabama

It's just not even a question, fellas.... If you're OK with second place then Jalen can do that. For the past 2 years he's shit the bed, bringing the O with him, and would have forced another second place finish if not for Tua. Tua... Who by the way is the real story, not Jalen. For him to do what he was able to do under that immense pressure was absolutely bonkers. That is Michael Jordan, Tom Brady type of competitive greatness. Seriously. We were dead in the water until he turned he "turned the tide", coming in completely cold with no meaningful snaps to his name.

And I keep hearing this "It was easier because Georgia couldn't game plan for him". Think about what that really means in terms of how a D coordinator would have game planned differently for Tua than Jalen. What it means is - They'd actually have to cover the whole field! You know, respect the deep ball. Not jump on every short route. Not crowd the line which effects our run game. Actually respect the idea of a play action. And that's what we're really talking about.... Tua is the story. He changes EVERYTHING for this offense.

And FTR - I've been saying since last Nov there would and should be a 2 QB system. Because I believe for 2-3 series a game Jalen can bring qualities that help the team win, and mostly the fact that the team will absolutely rally around both guys. But it sure as heck shouldn't be in the primary or starting role, and Tua sure as heck shouldn't be looking over his shoulder. That dude is special. Why waste his talents for the obvious pattern we've seen in every other big game the last 2 years? Makes no sense.

RTR

(And for the love of God opplease don't quote me with stats from the 8-9 games a season that a robot could play QB in and Alabama would win due to talent disparity. This is 10+ years into the Saban era... If you haven't figured out that's not the standard of competition we're really competing against, then it's a lost cause)

@Tidestalker, You still don't get it...you never fail to disappoint with your eloquence.

We probably just have different definitions of shitting the bed! Regardless - Accident's happen... And a heavy clean up is necessary!
Or, ass is over running the mouth again with a shot at Jalen that was uncalled for in the first place. That's ignoring the point you're just wrong.

You don't have an offense that's "shitting the bed" and is outscoring opponents 5 to 1. It's another unfair, and uncalled for, knock on Jalen.

Once again, a guy who's confused about what Alabama's competing for in this era. A hint - It's not beating Vandy by 56.

If avg 130 YPG of offense in 4 playoff games isn't shitting the bed, what is (BTW that's his passing AND running production)? Maybe if someone keeps him under 100 this year it would hit home? Hopefully Tua can stay healthy, Jalen can still contribute, and it's a moot point.

Then who's fault was it? The argument is the elite defenses are shutting us down through the air. That would lend itself to who was playing QB at the time.

If avg 130 YPG of offense in 4 playoff games isn't shitting the bed

My bad.

PC Version for Terry - "He performed extremely poorly"
The point you're putting this under "PC" goes to demonstrate how short-sighted your view is. Despite his shortcomings you don't have the record he does by "shitting the bed for two years."

You're right I should have added "In big games" - But figured you could deduce as much when I added that putting up stats against significantly lesser teams is value less when objectively evaluating his play vs strong competition.

But since I know you're not concerned with the PC aspect.... I'll try it one more time:

"Jalen has shit the bed in 4 consecutive playoff games, averaging 130 YPG of production, which is good enough for 2nd place".

My apologies!

That still doesn't justify, or excuse, your choice to shit on Jalen at every given opportunity. I don't see Tua, or Tide, support from many of your comments on the QB situation.

Alabama, would not have been where they have been, without Jalen. But that's a shit show. :skeo:

On Tua

On both:
But I still stand by the idea that both play... And while I'm one of these guys that really believes Tua is elite, Heisman type material... I do believe Jalen can and will help us win games. When you see the support he has from his teammates I think he can bring a boost and different look into the game.

Dang man, for a guy who's so into reading closely and context you missed a couple of examples in this thread alone! Plenty more in other threads as well if you'd like?

And saying Alabama wouldn't have been in the same position if Tua had played last year instead of Jalen just isn't necessarily factual. It's hypothetical and I have no issue saying I believe they absolutely would've been in the title game with Tua playing. I guess I just have more faith in Tua than you?

Ok minor update and it won’t be popular.

Tua and Jalen are both playing against LV, Tua has deferred to Jalen in the QB room as the leader of the bunch ( maybe just novelity) and Jalen handled his parents really well ( from what I hear told them to STFU). After that Saban thought extremely high of him. I know that isn’t going to go over well in here but it’s what I just heard.

demonstrates how full of shit Boz is. Jalen said no such thing.

How do we know that?
