Their pass 'D is probably a little better than their numbers show & their rush 'D is probably worse than it shows ALL simply b/c their opponents give up the run more quickly & go to the pass b/c of being behind or trying to get so far ahead. So the numbers are totally skewed.
'Bama has to play sound ball control offense to win this game & even then it'd be close. We have to win the turnover battle & be stellar on 3rd down conversions. We need many 3rd down conversions for 2 reasons: 1st-->the obvious we need first downs & 2nd. If we have many 3rd downs that means we have the ball a whole lot & not $cam.
i understand the point you're trying to make due to Auburn's exceptional offense, and i agree that we need to control the ball to a degree. however i think you're overstating the point. Oregon is #1 in scoring and #2 in total offense, yet they are #15 in total defense. Arkansas is #13 in scoring and #8 in total offense, yet they are #38 in total defense. Stanford is #8 in scoring and #14 in total offense, yet #27 in total defense. so there are BCS teams with explosive offenses AND good defenses - Auburn just isn't one of them.
