🏀 Why Doesn't Bama Run More?

Seems like if a team cannot shoot, they would do their best to run fast breaks as much as possible. A fast up and down game might give them a chance.

They can't play half court, why not give it a try? What does Grant have to lose? I bet the team would score more than 37.

I know the Bama hoops media coverage sucks, but I wish one reporter would just ask Grant why he believes in playing at such a slow pace offensively. I would love to hear him answer that question. The funniest thing is that he has all of these recruits fooled. They all rave about playing in his uptempo system.

It's always nice to have a Jimmy Chitwood on the team jacking up and draining 3s but we don't have one Coach Grant. We have a stable of thoroughbreds that need to be running the floor. I think that our half court game takes the aggressiveness out of the player. When I first got into coaching, our varsity averaged 82pts a game with an up tempo style and averaged 30 wins for 3 yrs. We also had a 6'6" kid that could shoot the eyes out too. We ran what we called side break. 2 passes and we were across half court and putting up a shot if open. The first option was the 3, second was dribble drive, third pass to cutting post man, fourth pass to FT line to trailing postman.
We just seem to stand around in the half court game with no cuts, screens, or back picks for anyone. We look like we are watching paint dry!! Very painful!
