I'm commenting because he's a guy that I've never pictured in a role in this defense.

McCants was overshadowed by Thomas in '88. Who was it besides him in that LB corps of '89? (yah, I could look... :lance: )

DT is my all time favorite player, but he was limited in pass coverage (at least in college). McCants was a beast who was somewhat wasted by Curry's staff. The starting LB corp that year was (I think) DT, McCants, and Vantrese (sp?) Davis. Spencer Hammond also played a role.

This was my first thought as well. Barron is getting better every game, but I still think we are down a little at safety from where we were last year. But then I think about all the safeties we COULD plug in and I wonder if Rashad is the best choice.

You could go with George Teague, Roman Harper, Sam Shade, John Mangum, Kermit Kendrick, or Tommy Wilcox. I think I have to go with Teague because he is the tallest, fastest, and overall the most talented.
