I really hope DMac wins it...but I have a feeling the popular vote still is with Tebow.

On another note as far as qbs are concerned I think CB is a better qb and should also get it before Tebow, but this is a popularity contest now.

:(

June Jones, is that you?

i believe Mr. Tebow will win it, but i think McFadden deserves it. the guy is incredible, with little to NO help on that team he pretty much threw him on his back and lead them to 8 wins. and hes done it all 3 seasons hes been at Arkansas. i think there something to be said for that.

I hate both parts of that argument. If that was the case, CB would win it hands down for what he's "done" for three years. This is the 2007 Heisman Trophy. This isn't the 2005-2007 Heisman Trophy.

Heard of Felix Jones? Averaging 9.1 yards a carry. Would start at any other school in the SEC, and maybe in the country. 1100+ yards, 11 TDs rushing. 31.3 kick return average. Heck, even CASEY DICK is having a solid year. 18 TDs-9 INTS. 130 passer rating. Saying he has no help is arguable.

yea Colt Brennan has had a great career at a school who plays what, 2 decent teams a year? and a school that always has a QB with ridiculous passing numbers?! come on man.

yea, Felix Jones is a good RB but imo he would not have the numbers he has w/o McFadden being there. come on, Casey Dick? just no. McFadden played QB prolly as much as Dick did, the guy did it all. run, pass, catch, return kicks. he put that damn team on his back. especially with Marcus Monk out for most of the year, and when he came back he wasnt very effective.

LOL exactly why I wouldn't give it to CB. You didn't think I was making an argument for CB do you? Because, if so, Reading Comp. 101 is in your future.

DMac had 4 TD passes on 6 completions. Casey Dick had 18 on 131 completions. Yeah, DMac sure played QB more.

By the way, Felix Jones had 18 returns for 550+ yards. DMac had 15 for 280+. 30+ average to 18+. 2 TDs to none.

DMac didn't do it all by himself by any stretch of the imagination. I do think he's the best athlete in the running; but going by stats and performance over the whole year, Tebow has it hands down IMO. Tebow hasn't had a bad game all year (closest was the LSU and Georgia games, but he still played above average). I can't say the same for DMac, he was shut down by both Auburn and...State maybe? Seems like I remember him pretty much only having one long TD reception against them. And, while he did have 4 TDs rushing against FIU (all 4 being under 5 yard runs), seems like they kept him in check for the majority of the game.

DMac definitely is the best athlete; but he hasn't had the best year. DMac had a great season, T squared had a phenomenal year.

If ESPN has anything to say about it, Tebow will win. How many of his 20 TD runs were five yards or less? Anytime UF got that deep, there was no doubt who would be carrying the football. He is a load as a runner, but not necessarily the best player in college football. I voted for Tebow, but give me DMac.

Funny that you asked that. I went back and looked at the game by game stats and DMac had 9 of 15 TDs which were 5 yards or less. Tebow had 15 of 29 for 5 yards or less.

I think McFadden won it with the LSU game. I have to believe that it will be a very close vote between Tebow and McFadden, but I think there are too many voters that do not want to give it to a sophmore. Everyone knows McFadden is going pro aftet this year so I think the votes will lean towards him.

McFadden - Heismen Trophey Winner 2007

Do I think CB had a season worthy of the Heismen? Yes, however, I don't think he will win it. His games being on so late, will hurt his votes. Too many votes from the east are in bed before CB tosses his first warm up toss.

The Hypesman trophy is not for the best athlete...it is of the best college football player.

System schmystem...Brennan's numbers would be impressive if there was no defense on the field. He embarrassed us in Hawaii's loss to us last year.

His "system" involves throwing the ball to the receiver. w00t! He does that better than anyone I have seen in a long, long time. A 75% completion percentage is insane...especially when the defense knows you are throwing it.

Sure Hawaii plays a weak schedule, but their talent level is not up to SEC standards either. Boise was top 25 (they beat USM by 22) and Brennan was 40 of 53 for 500 yards and 5 TD's.

4000+ yards passing this season is even more impressive when you realize that he did it in 10 games. He did not play against their D2 opponent, and he was hurt against Nevada - only throwing 2 passes. He can throw short passes, long passes, and intermediate passes well, and most of the incompletions he has are due to dropped balls and throw-aways.

The guy is amazing. If he is a "system" QB, we need to recruit "System" QB's like him.

Interesting notes: CB tossed 5 INTs against Idaho and 4 INTs against Charleston.

Tim Tebow is ranked second in QB rating. He is right behind Sam Bradford and ahead of Colt Brennan.

Hell, I'd probably have Graham Harrell ahead of Colt Brennan. 5000+ yards. 45 TDs, 14 INTs. Leads the nation in yards, TDs, and completion percentage.

Plus, his schedule doesn't consist of The University of Bob.

And almost 200 more attempts than Brennan...a lower QB rating...and he lost to every team but the University of Bob...though they did manage to beat OU with 72(!) passes. Talk about your system QB's...He threw 5TD's against Northwestern State (D1AA) and padded his stats nicely against Rice (6 TD's) and SMU(4TD's).

I would take Brennan over him...I still remember what he did to our secondary in the second half last year. If there had been another 3 minutes in that game, we would have lost.

Kevin Smith should be mentioned. 2,448 yards rushing and 29 rushing TDs is a fairly decent year.

Solid point kimosabi...

I thought you just said System schmystem? If you say systems be danged for one guy, you have to say it for every guy.

So, we're going to talk about how great he did against terrible teams in comparison to Brennan doing terrible against...terrible teams?

By the way, CB tossed 6 TDs against Northern Colorado, 4 against Louisiana Tech, 6 against New Mexico State, and 5 against Washington. Just FWIW.

You failed to mention that Harrell tossed 5 TDs against Texas, 2 against OU, 3 against Texas A&M, and 5 against Oklahoma State. All teams that I would say are better than ANYONE Colt Brennan faced.

CB threw 5 picks against a team that is 1-11....!!!!

I personally think both QBs are system QBs, but again, every QB runs some type of system. Some are just higher powered than others.
