So, who is gonna fill in his spot. First, it was Johnson, then McClain, neeeexxt?

I gotta agree and say Dont'a would fill that role. I believe I saw reports saying that he was in Ro's hip pocket during Bowl Practices learning the different calls and just trying to get a feel for it.

One would think that he had time to learn alot this year after his injury...and I bet he and Ro were never too far apart....no reason to think he wont be prepared. Ro spoiled alot of people with his on field command and awareness...players like him dont come along too often. If its not Hightower....I cant imagine who else it would be.

Yes, agreed. Hightower and Barron are the next greats on defense. In fact, I was very impressed on how Don'ta impacted the game early this year. He's a beast rushing the passer.

He was our receiver/return man/running back for two years. Until Saban got in his coach's (Bates) ear, he would have continued to play on the offensive side of the ball. Mark is a smart kid. Saban always knew that at some point, Mark would be the leader of our defense.

What the heck kind of High School football team did you guys have that Barron only played one side of the ball?

Do not care if it was 6A ball or not, a player that skilled in HS has to play both offense and defense.

That said, Barron is just an outstanding athlete. The play he made breaking up a pass in the end zone at Miss State was awesome.

Wow, I didn't know Hightower was a recruited by Vandy. What a testimony on him. He certainly has been the playmaker on the D when he was out there so there was definitely no indication the he was missing anything. I was just a little concerned that most relied on Ro' so much.

I'm sure Donta' is foaming at the mouth to put his mind & skills to work.
