A comment following a question to DePriest.

On calling the defensive signals:

I've been around long enough that I can handle it. C.J. Mosley and I both took the role last year. He took the majority of it, but sometimes I had to help him out. When teams went fastball and stuff, he couldn't get it all communicated, so I kind of helped there.

Is there something to take away from how they lined up in drills yesterday? I don't put a lot of faith in it...but the OL started with...

Brown at LT and Taylor at RG—other three positions remained as they were when the season closed out.

Greene was back with the offensive line after his move to a blocking TE last season.

I believe Foster was lined up beside Trey in the linebacker drills with the inside backers, thats who I expect to end up being the other starting inside backer.

Foster spent most of last year shadowing CJ in practices and backing up DePriest in games. He was being groomed for that signal calling position.

How this shakes out this fall? It's hard to say because of a move to put quicker guys on the outside which would move guys like Devall back inside.

I'd say it's a safe statement to say our two deep looks to be Devall, Ragland, DePriest, and Foster. Trey is the only one I'd put as a lock for a starting role.

I think its gonna be hard to keep Reuben off the field. Devall may slide down to the defensive line more regular. To me the outside linebacker competition is gonna be more interesting to see who comes out in that group.

This. Most definitely, this!

Other than maybe Dillon lee, which of the linebackers do you think is best at dropping back in coverage and staying with his man?

Damn good question.

I've wondered what Tim Williams is going to bring to pass coverage.
